Backyard Golf Mat 3'X5' Pro Residential with Foam Pad

SOLID HONEST REVIEW HERE
I got this mat the other day and set it up for play today in my back yard. First impressions was it felt sturdy, the turf felt great and seemed overall like great quality.1. Feel - It does in fact feel great, it's thick "enough" for your shots not to feel like your hitting off of concrete.2. Durability - Seems great, I hit off of one spot with irons for about 2 hours straight, I didn't see any turf come off. Also it doesn't leave any green material on your golf club.3. Movement - This is the reason I will be returning it and will be looking elsewhere for a heavier mat. Keep in mind I'm placing this on my putting green which is 100% flat, already has turf (you'd think it would help it grip more), but after three swings or so, it will shift on you, then you have to manually bend down and move it back. I hopped up and down on it and I watched it move as I did that, very frustrating. I feel it's the most frustrating because if you use it and alignment sticks to keep your aim straight, this will definitely be a problem for you.4. Price - You can't beat it for the price5. Accessories - It did come with a tee that was just a hint shorter than your standard 2 3/4 tee, it was evenly cut too, so the ball didn't fall off of it on it's own.

Pretty Much Perfect for the Price
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I searched long and hard for a good golf practice mat but eventually came to the conclusion that there wasn't something decent for what I was wanting to spend, until I found this one. I purchased it with a little concern that it might be cheap. It isn't at all. It is thick, heavy duty, stays in place, plenty large and works perfectly. Rubber tee inserts fit perfectly and stay in place. I love it. It might not last a few season on a public practice facility, but for personal use, if you don't leave it in the elements constantly, I'm pretty sure it will last a lifetime.

Works perfectly for optishot 2
Works perfectly for my optishot 2 golf simulator. The optishot 2 is 1 1/2" thick.I laid this mat (3/4" thick) on top of a 4' x 8' plywood (3/4" thick). Outlined the optishot on one side of the mat/plywood and cut. The mat can be cut with a box cutter/ razor. The plywood was cut with a circular saw. I stapled the mat to the plywood as wellThe optishot 2 now lays flush like it's supposed to.Works well for those who dont want to pay for the special mat from optishot. Just buy this and cut it yourself. It takes all of a trip to the hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot and some household tools to get this platform done.Seems durable and will last

Quality and price make for excellent value
After owning this mat for 2 months, and using it off a wooden floor outdoors 3-4 times a week in the very high temperatures and humidity of a Florida summer, I am very pleased with the look, feel and quality of this mat. Anyone who has ever hit off artificial turf at a driving range will know the feel of this mat. The hit is very firm, with little forgiveness, and if your hitting sessions are going too be very long, you may feel a bit sore in the hands and arms at first the next day.In some reviews I read that the mat may slide, but the rubber padding at the bottom my mat grips the wooden floor just fine. The “grass” side is holding up well; no signs of thinning or damage in the hitting areas. Mine came with 2 tee holes at each end (and one rubber tee), so I rotate it for each new session.I added a packet of tees, because the one that came with the mat is too high for fairway woods and irons.I also drew grid lines across the mat with a waterproof marking pen. Now I can check alignment on every hit. The manufacturer should add these to the finished product at the factory.

Very Nice
I put up a net in the back yard and added this to hit golf balls off of. We mounted it to a platform I made using some 2x4's and have probably hit close to 500 balls off it so far. It still looks brand new and has no worn spots. The only recommendation I would make is for the hole to be cut a little more forward for the rubber golf tee. If you are tall or have a wide stance your trailing foot will be off the mat. Especially if you set up with an open stance. This does not downgrade the quality of the product IMO. All you need to do is just cut a hole about 8-10 inches forward for the existing one.

This product is “GREAT”!!
I wasn’t prompted to write this review, just really happy with purchase. WoW, nice product for the price point. I was a little skeptical when comparing hitting mats at this price. This is high quality, durable and I’ve been hitting balls off it for days now, no flaking of turf and nothing left behind on the soles of my clubs. I have mine setup in my shop with a hitting net, it’s my own driving range for winter.Yes, I would buy this again but, I don’t think I’ll have to this is a quality product!!!

Mat + net = best golf investment I’ve made
I’ve had this mat for a couple of weeks now. I bought it with a hitting net because the weather was great but range was closed due to pandemic. Turns out the combo was probably the best golf investment I’ve made. The only comparison I have is mats that I’ve hit off of on ranges. This one seems to be roughly same. I’ve had it laying on grass in my yard, as well as concrete. The mat works well on each surface. While it’s a bit pricey for what seems like a carpet sample, it was worth the investment for me. I don’t leave it outside so I expect it to last quite awhile. I also use it to tune up short putts. Just having the mat and net around allows me to do drills all the time now and it’s good exercise (as compared to being planted in front of the TV.). My game is definitely better and I even though ranges have reopened, I prefer just stepping into my backyard to get practice swings in.
