We bought this leash after trying another chain leash half this price which broke in the first 15 minutes. This one is about 3 times heavier and so far has proven a match for our dog. We like the shorter length partly because it is so heavy you could get hurt if excess chain gets wrapped around your legs. This still happened to my wife when the dog got a little too happy and the chain hit her ankles as the dog ran by. Just be aware of the possibility and you can avoid any problems.You do not feel like this leash is going to break. Everything about it is sturdy.The finish of the chain links is not flawless. You can see where each link joins together and there are small gaps there. The chrome finish also does not appear too thick, but I'm probably too picky after having paid to have chrome restoration done on antique car components. I still believe the chain will hang together until doomsday!

Very robust leash but tends to be heavy for my wife to handle.

I found this leach is very sturdy and does it job. It thickness helps with our 70 pound lab puppy. However, the black handle it not durable because my lab seems to be able to chew it a little before I realized she had it and saw it was cutting through. I jist wish the quality of the handle was better. I found the length is good but could be better if a little longer.

I've a "Quentin" aka a 200 pound Pyrenean Mastiff. He loves the taste of leashes, car seat belts etc. It never fails, he can be as good as gold in the car and when I get to our location -- something has gotten chewed through. Like someone took a scissors and cut it! Happens in a flash. I have many chewed through leashes....no more. This is meant for him! it's heavy, yes. He's strong. It is harder on your hands to hold, but I'd rather wear gloves than to worry about him getting loose. I use a carabiner to tie it to the hand holders in the back seat, so he can't chew through the handle part, without me seeing him. I should've bought this years ago!

Works very well! We have a very large 125 lb dog that is very playful and tries to take the leash, but this leash is strong, gentle, and effective. (He also can't put it in his mouth like other cloth leashes.)

We have a shepherd collie mix puppy(1 yr) and in one week in just 5 mins of our heads turned she chew 2 $40+ retractable leashs. So we had to get her on something she couldn't destroy.So far great ! We have to keep the padded strap away but she so far has only interest on the heavy duty chain.She has tried to chew it only to spit it out and lick it. So 2 thumbs up .This one will last and it was not as expensive as those retractable ones. Weird thing she doesn't chew up anything in the house just those leashs.So they are gone now ! No more chewing for her !

Solid material well made. very happy with purchase. The chain is heavy so it helps my dog carry his own weight and slows his stride.

It's sturdy, heavy and thick chain. I've gone through approx 6 dog leashes at approx $20-30 each cause my dog is not a good walker tugs and pulls the leash and wind up having to get a new one so quickly. This leash he licked it once and smh" at me he knows I won this time LOL.
