Omega Paw Portion Pacer, Stainless Steel, Large, 3.5" Diameter

Update: I’ve had this for 2 years and it still looks brand new! I hand wash it and it has been a help for my dog that always wants to inhale her food as fast as she can. This ball has been a huge help slowing her down. 🐶😁My dog eats her food like she is in a race to see how fast she can eat. This review is for the single, stainless ball. Note that they also offer a porcelain one, and the reviews are mixed together.This stainless ball has helped slow her down, although she still sounds like a maniac clanging her bowl trying to lick up every bit. This is a large, stainless ball and I think this would be best for medium & large dogs. Measure to see if it will work for the size bowls you use. If you are using very small or very large bowls, this may not work for you. Small bowls this ball will probably be too large, and super large bowls this may not do any good if there is too much space around it where it could just get pushed to one side.I have a medium sized dog, and the ball takes up about half of the bowl, but still allows her to reach the food to get it all. It washes off easily, and has some weight to it. I've never had a problem with her being able to get the ball out of the bowl once it's placed. I think the only way that would happen is if the dog tipped the bowl over completely.I paid about $12 for it & I'm happy with it. I don't think I'd like the porcelain version, and if that were the only option offered, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing it being that it's porcelain because it sounds fragile. Compared to the bump bowls that already have the bumps in them, I like that I can use them with my current bowls, I have the option to use or not to use, and that the ball is easy to clean. I recommend this ball if you have medium to Large dogs that are fast eaters.

We got this slow feeding device because my German shepherd grandpup was gulping his food down without even chewing it-- VERY DANGEROUS for deep chested breeds like German shepherd crosses. After the gulping comes the inevitable purge, often followed by a second go at keeping it down-- unless someone is right next to him to scoop the damp kibble into the dust pan!We got him a maze feeder when he first got here and that helped, he just outgrew it. This huge stainless steel ball works BEAUTIFULLY in his stainless steel food bowl!!! He seems to have been trained to eat at a slower pace!I only know because I cooked a plate of scrambled eggs for him the day after he was neutered. Just the fact that he would SLOWLY eat a plate of warm scrambled eggs cooked in a little butter and coconut oil surprised me? With a dose of pricey doggie CBD infused olive oil (that he LOVES) from the cannabis dispensary over the top? SHOCKING! Yes, it was my "We're SO Sorry" breakfast special, served with half a slice of buttered toast on a paper plate. He ate it at a normal speed... without also eating the plate! Color me impressed!Not only did this device do much more than expected by actually modifying his behavior, but it's lightweight, easy to clean AND very durable!I will definitely recommend this slow feeder ball to anyone who will listen!

The media could not be loaded. Our puppy gulps down his kibble every meal without chewing in the span of about 30 seconds. To better improve his digestion and help him eat slower, we got him this ball to put in the bowl to make him eat around it, slowing him down (see video). It did it’s job just enough, now he eats his 2 cups of food in about a minute and a half total. The ball is weighted with sand, easy to clean, and a good size for his bowl. We might get a bowl with higher edges though, because he popped the ball out at the end with his nose trying to get the last few pieces! Overall, it does what we needed it to.

I am a volunteer puppy raiser for a Guide Dog School. I have 3 Labrador retrievers and I've been using a slow bowl for a while. These labs are smarter than the bowl and have learned to eat going in circles to pick up speed. I have been waiting for the Omega Paw to come in stock. Finally I was able to purchase and I got all 3 at the same time. Literally the first time using it, all 3 dogs slowed down at least 40% and I am being conservative here. I have a 6 month old yellow lab that thinks she has never been feed lol and now she still eats fast but she doesn't throw up her food. I am 100% satisfied and the quality is really nice. I have had them for a few months and they are exactly the same as the day I opened the package. I am assuming over time they will dull down slightly like a stainless steel bowl which I put these into. I am beyond thrilled and recommend this item to anyone that need to slow their dogs down. Again the pup is still fast but she has kept her food down every meal. All 3 dogs finish about the same time. Ages 7, 4 and 6 months.... If your looking for a high quality item that will last you years to come, I am confident this is the product and I am not being paid for this review. If Omega Paw wants to pay me for this review, all amounts will be accepted lol..... All kidding aside, I am beyond happy with my purchase here and would recommend it 110%.

This is such an elegant product. I love the weighted aspect. Gus takes eating very seriously and while this does not slow him down all that much - it still works for him because he can’t get the whole serving in his mouth at the same time. He has to swallow smaller bites. This is success on his scale. I put it in the middle of his 8 inch bowl and pour his food around it. I also like how quick and easy it is to clean.
