Fantastic comfort mattress, pretty dammed heavy and deep.Expensive but well made and well worth it.The £30 Haul away service for the old mattress (same size) DID not happen.The new mattress was lifted to upstairs bedroom by the guys, they DID NOT unwrap it and take away plastic and they would not take away the old one.....as it had not been ''prepared/wrapped''?There is nothing about this, in the info for haul away service...Even though we could of used the wrapper to cover the old mattress , they wanted to be away as they only have 15 minutes to deliver/remove and they were already behind schedule. I've had this mattress for around a year and a half and it's still as wonderfully comfortable as it was on day one. Every penny I paid for this was well worth it. A fantastic night's sleep every night. Don't hesitate.

I'm reviewing this mattress after one year of ownership. The mattress is great quality and after 1 year is still firm, with no indentations or dips where we sleep, and no roll towards the centre. The edges are also still firm, with no roll. The king mattress is extremely heavy, which two fit gym goers struggled to get up the stairs and even to turn from time to time. We have it on a base of straight wooden slats (no flex), and the mattress feels more firm than medium-firm. Because of that, it has changed how I sleep, it makes my hips ache if I sleep all night as I used to on my side and I have become more of a front sleeper now. To be fair, in this new sleeping position, I find the mattress very comfortable and get a good night's sleep. The mattress is very quiet, no noise from springs as you or your partner move. We find it far hotter than our old mattress, and no longer require an extra blanket at night in the winter. Price-wise, aim for sub-£500 in the sales (around Christmas). All in all, a very comfortable mattress that is wearing well, but it runs hot and is extremely heavy to lift.

This is an excellent mattress, great fit on a double bed. Very thick, and as stated no roll together. Very comfortable with enough springs, but no bounce. Delivery was exceptionally good.

Silent night may cyst a bit more but the quality is outstandingHad cheaper mattress but you could feel every springThey last ages. Spend the money and enjoy it

This mattress arrived on the day, delivery persons were extremely polite/helpful/smiling through. i looked at several reviews before purchasing this brand/quality and to accommodate my needs. Whilst it is early days so far... i am extremely impressed. the mattress is firm, it feels/looks functions like a high ended market mattress. really impressed. yes it is little bit weighty, but worth it and totally practical i will re review after a year, but extremely satisfied with purchase and all round experience with this thanks

My last open spring King was a Sealy. It had the same classification and number of springs as this Silentnight eco 1400 and I loved it.I therefore ordered the Silentnight as thought it would be essentially the same and so here are my thoughts...It's quite shallow at 23cms for an open coil mattress. I expected a hard underside to the mattress like the Sealy, but that isn't there and I think I know why..The Sealy needed the hard underside in order to place the springs lower down so that multiple comfort layers can be laid on top..My Sealy was actually around 30cms depth to memory...So my first night with the Silentnight might have been a fairly Silentnight, but despite that possibility I was still awake for a lot of it. I wasn't exactly uncomfortable, just constantly aware of how hard this mattress was... I think to nail exactly what the problem was, the mattress was just too unforgiving for me and had zero sink quality and I didn't feel like it was encapsulating and moulding to me to any degree...When sat up reading the mattress feels so hard to me it pressurises my coccyx, base of the spine and bottom and I found myself constantly needing to shift position... I think that says a lot about the mattress (no more lazy Sunday mornings reading the news and drinking tea for me)...Don't get me wrong, I like a firm and supportive bed but this is a step too far for me. The gumph says that a new mattress needs time to get used to, and although I accept that there is no way I will ever get used to it as it is (because it feels to me just too severe)..I'm currently attempting to solve this with a memory foam mattress topper arriving tomorrow.We are not all the same and there are a great many 5 star faultless reviews for this mattress, I would just advise buyers to think whether they want firmness coupled with deeper comfort or are happy with a fairly austere firm support.For those looking for the former I would suggest the Silentnight 1200 pocket labelled as "medium firm". I know this mattress well as my partner has one and it's great whilst also recommended for those with back issues..We are all different, but proceed to buy with thought and caution...My 3 stars is simply to flag up a more negative experience, although this mattress is probably perfect for many.
