Gigabyte P650B 80 Plus Bronze 650W, Quiet HYB Fan, Active Power Protection, Power Supply GP-P650B

My computer wouldn't restart after a power outage. Did some troubleshooting- likely PS failure- so I ordered this one as an OEM direct replacement. Swap was easy- restart was good - comp was saved!

Not as silent as my old computer's fans, but the package came with extra fans & fastenings, so it's definitely a good value for the price.

bought this before i researched unfortunately. But on the bright side it’s working great for me. Easy to install. I don’t even hear it over the fans in my pc. From what i read this seems to be an updated PSU from the original that had a chance to go boom on you. So be cautious, but on my end this was a great deal. Hope the best for anyone building!

i bought this 650w psu had it 2 yrs its an amazing psu for the right price,ppl saying theirs are exploding catching fire thats because its the higher watt psu 750 and up i believe...the 650 watt ones are fine to get if you need one.

This power supply came with a good set of wires, the only thing I wish it had was labels for the different wires, for me building my first PC it took a little longer to figure out which 8 pin connection was for what and it would have been helpful to have a small label on them. Besides that it works very well, it looks clean, and I don't have any problems with it. Quiet and fully modular with easily enough ports on it.

It was doing just fine when out of the blue I began to get insufficient power to the motherboard. In just over an year of using it, it had burned out. Was hoping to would last for at least a good 4 years

Honestly I’m kind of blown away by the performance and realizability of this power supply at the cost offered. At 750W, it was more than enough to power mine and my boyfriends RTX 20xxS series cards. It’s powerful, stable, and quiet. The voltage draw stays well within allowable range with no major unexpected shifts. For PSU’s this is my personal favorite at or near this price point! Obviously if you’re installing SLI configurations or something like a 3080+, it may be better to move up a hundred or two watts. But for more regular builds? Amazing choice

in spite of many updates I have kept the review as unedited as possible to preserve my experiences.Update 1: power supply survived a major high voltage spike(pure luck not skills) which killed my Ups (APC) but not a sign of damage on my power supply(take this with grain of salt) 5/5(nope) fully recommendedUpdate 2 CAUTION: Though this power supply didn't explode on me "YET" there are publications like Gamers nexus in YouTube found out that this power supply is very questionable I ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS POWER SUPPLY. Please only buy from brands whose OEM is from CWT or Seasonic.Update 3: I am currently trying to return this power supply through gigabyte they have a active recall program going on(finally after destroying them for selling crap in newegg) selling this second hand is a risky option as I am basically giving away a fire hazard which I am not comfortable of.at first i was skeptical of the OEM manufacturer MEIC(glad i was) of gigabyte but i gave it go anyway had to say right of the bat the Vdroop in 12v under load is well managed compared to my vs650 only drooping 20mV( its sad that this power supply is actually a good performer) from 12v whereas my vs650 was drooping quite hard even the fans in my RTX 2070 was slowing down slightly because of that and did not allow any overclock this new power supply handles my PC like a champ.nitpicks are the 16A plug which is totally overkill and unnecessary.

The media could not be loaded.  Bought on 16th December 2020. Today 16th October 2021 while watching youtube, no gaming or any other, just watching youtube it blew with a loud noise and with smoke coming out. The fan within it burst with oil in it spilling out in the cabinet. I still don't know if the components inside the system are fine or dead now.Beware 80 Plus only a standard for the power supply efficiency and not the units reliability. Gigabyte has always been a very bad brand but this time because of high prices I bought this since I heard in recent times Gigabyte improved its product quality. I guess it was false.

Muy buena fuente de poder, aun que la compre para las nueva generación de tarjetas madre x570 y no me sirvió ya que las tarjetas madre x570 son de 8+4 pines y 8+8pines, estas fuentes de poder solo vienen con uno de 8 pines para CPU, así que si planean comprar esta fuente tengan cuidado con eso ya que los únicos adaptadores para aumentar los pines para CPU a mi me tardan en llegar de 1-2 meses pero para generaciones anteriores cumple mas que a la perfección ya que los materiales son de muy buena calidad.

The order arrived in time, but theSMPS died within 2 days. I recieved the replacement, but keeping my fingers crossed.Replacement is working fine.

Dont buy it fails after 15 days of use mine did too i purchased on 24th and then 15days later it just now doesnt work the fans dont spin and just to clear up there havent been any power cuts when my pc was running also i use an inverter and have 6 fans in my case with a nice 3 intake 3 exhaust system which keeps my case cool and i dont have a gpu thats why my power draw is about only 300tdp and the pc runs on my inverter tooso i dont see why it has to stop working out of nowhere for absolute no reason
