if you like farlow and daniel ridge than check out bennet gap. i went up avery rd to buckhorn to avery creek to club gap to buckwheat to bennet gap. best ride around! but very strenuous. pisgah is the mtb mecca. read this book it will make the trail worthwhile otherwise you'll be dragging a bike up rocky ridges all day! check out all his other books too. i have ridden almost every trail he's written in his books and some have been different directions than his but always good.

This book along with the NG Trails Illustrated 780 map make biking/navigating around this area pretty easy! Some of the trails are hard to find and with GPS distance issues I missed a few trail turns but just got to see more of the stunning views and excellent riding. Good descriptions and maps. The area division gets a bit confusing, I wished sometimes trails were simply alphabetically listed instead.

Buy it, read it, use it, take it with you! The definitive guide for mountain biking in western North Carolina.

Great reviews, details are good, maps are not to scale, but when you compare them with an actual map, they are pretty darn close. Tons of trails to pick from.
