Great Mushroom Kit Especially for Beginners!
What a great way to grow mushrooms especially for beginners! Like other reviews, I was able to get this result in just almost a week. I will watch the video to see if I can get a few more harvests out of this but I am happy with the results. I think because I live in a warm climate, this made it easier for them to flourish. I would defintely buy this product again:)

Don't look at the others just buy this now!!!
2 days after reviewing this and setting it out on the patio it began to pin.I've gotten three flushes off of one block🤯This is the real deal. Apologies for my bad review!I really wanted to support someone that wasn't a corporate business cashing in on the mycology craze. The brick that I purchased looked okay on the top and sides but had white mold growing on the bottom the second day I had unpacked it.Had I checked the bail I would have taken pictures and demanded a replacement immediately.I even tried to cut off the obviously not yet infested with white (think vegetable scraps or a peach rotten white covering the entire bottom of the bail!) Mold and the piece that I more than cut off enough to keep the rest of the mycelium that was intact and smelled delicious a chance to grow. Now it is in the compost and I don't know how I would have even got one good harvest let alone more than one when they ship these out with absolutely no type of moisture control in the box.The thing was completely dried out so I followed the directions which some lovely graphic designer put together to make you think they care to a T!I should have saved my nearly $27 and got some actual inoculation spores and done the sterilization myself with ready-made grain spawn bags.I tried to take a shortcut by thinking these people can't have that many good reviews and be this incompetent 😑Turns out I'm the idiot I guess?Would be nice if they take an extra week to ship they would check whether or not the bail is already ruined before they put it in whatever they do as it was very obvious there needs to be some type of temperature control because there is no way the amount of moisture I introduced up top in the opening (10 spritzing's) was enough to cause the mold that I saw.If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Should have listened to my gut and you got some actual spores and spawn.I don't even think by the smell of the bail I was sent a viable product. I feel like they were getting rid of a bunch of old pink oyster stock as it very quickly developed the yellow slime that lets you know the grain spawn is worn out!"DISAPPOINTED!"

It came seriously contaminated with a veracious, destructive mold
I am not new to growing mushrooms. I followed the instructions and instead of mushrooms I got an outbreak of an awful mold that has spread from this block into the air in my house, contaminating other processes I have been carrying out successfully prior to the introduction of this block. The mold that has emerged from this block (one I have never before experienced in over a decade of growing mushrooms in my home) has contaminated everything, including my fruit fly growing media, destroying those grows so I am having to spend funds to buy fruit flies to feed my dart frogs, and compelling me to have to sterilize the area in my house where I was able in the past to carry out aseptic processes without contamination. I am livid.

Dont give up on the block until you are sure its dead
So ordered this in spring. When it arrived i was so excited i did not verify that it had completely colonized before cutting the slit in the block. After a day of misting under a humidity tent, the block started to grow green forest mold on the top. I figured the thing was a waste of money and time. But to me this was an experiment and no result is inconsequential. So i watched it for the next week. To my amazement fruits did not come out of the slit but rather the 4 small holes i poked chopsticks into for the humidity tent. I got a 3/4 lb first flush. I pulled it out and left it on the table while i did other things for the next 10 days. Again i saw it fruiting out of the chopstick holes. I re-tented it and brought the humidity up. Second flush was around 1/2lb. Another thing i did not expect was that the mycelium was eating the green mold. I let the block dry for another week and then misted the slit directly for 2 days with RO water. The third flush was again around 1/2 lb and tasted great. It flushed twice more but very little mushrooms came out...maybe 1/3lb over both flushes. The block never stopped flushing, i finally just tossed it into my compost bin with some weeds and wood chippings from yard work. We will see if it makes mushrooms in the bin this fall. I took some of the inner block and spawned it off to some popcorn to make a spawn for straw. Well this has started the most mind consuming experimenting that i have ever done and now i have a hydro grow tent with this pink oyster, golden oyster and Lion's Mane in it. all growing like crazy. So be careful, if you are a scientist at heart and love to discover new things and have a tendency to like to tinker with things and run experiments, DO NOT buy a mushroom kit! It is very addicting and WILL take you away from your family.....but they will have some awesome mushrooms ;)

Maybe a bad batch
I really tried hard to get these guys going. I followed instructions but it just wouldn’t fruit. Eventually I got a failing flushes that aborted. I floated and started over in a open container set up maybe it wasn’t enough Humidity I thought. It looked really promising and it almost did it this time more before aborting. So I thought maybe it’s not retaining moisture so I re-bagged it in the open container I got it to look like a mass of brain that was taking shape and the next day it aborted. I’m so over this mushroom I’ve tried to save this cake the whole time I’ve had it and it’s been a nightmare. I’m not gonna give you one star because I honestly think I just got a bad batch. The set up is fine honestly
