Secure home
I got this because of the feature that it can be used with SmartThings. I can add door codes for contractors, friends and guests from wherever I am. It was easy to install and works very reliably. It took a little time to figure out how to add the automation feature in SmartThings, but once I realized how it worked, it was easy to set up and easy to use. I love that it has a battery indicator so that I know when the batteries need to be replaced. It comes with good quality hardware too. I also love that I can double check to make sure my doors are locked from wherever I am. Did I forget to lock the door? No problem. I can lock it from work if I want to. When I have guests staying with me, I don't have to give them a key. I can ask them what code they want to use. Then I can delete them after they leave if I want to, and they can't just come and go in the future. You also can monitor what time people arrived by their use of their code. I know I sound like a salesman, but I really love these locks. I installed 6 of them in my home!

Great Lock, Easy to Install. A little loud when it auto locks
This is a great lock and works well with the ring security system. You have to have the ring security system, not just the doorbell to get this to work. This was easy to install and very easy to add to my ring security system by following the on screen directions. Rekeying the lock to my personal key was simple and takes 5 seconds to do. You can lock/unlock using your ring app. You can also connect it to Alexa and have it unlock/lock using that, although you do have to give it a code through alexa or it won't work. You can also set it up to do automation(automatically disarm your alarm system when you unlock the lock), which is a feature we decided not to use and you can use Alexa routines with this lock as well. The only negative I have about this lock is that it is pretty loud when it automatically locks on it's own. Loud enough where you can hear it a couple rooms away. Not a big deal, but that was something I wasn't anticipating. Not a big enough issue to hurt the review, still giving this 5 stars.

Quick and easy installation if you're used to installing your own locks
In my house I currently have a Wink 2 hub and I have a combination of Nest, Z-Wave switches, My Q Garage Door and the next thing on the list was a to get a Z-Wave deadbolt for the front door. I didn't just want a regular Z-Wave deadbolt, I wanted one with an external keypad so I can program it for our dog sitter, mother-in-law and neighbors when they watch my house and/or dogs. So I looked at all of the Kwikset Z-Wave locks and made up my mind to buy the touchscreen model however upon reading more reviews and playing with it at a local hardware store, I decided that I wanted physical buttons. So I choose this model. The until came in double boxed with all of the pieces and although I read the reviews about long install time, trouble pairing with home automation hubs, I had it installed and was locking and unlocking the door with my phone through the Wink app within 15 minutes. I was VERY pleased. Re-Keying it to my existing Kwikset Tustin locks took me an additional 5 minutes later that evening. Looking to buy another for our backdoor as well as for the door that leads to the garage. So very pleased with the purchase. 5/23/2023: Bought one for the front door in 2018 and one for the backdoor in 2020 and the one from 2020 bit the dust. It would still work, but something in the gears was making it not turn the bolt anymore. Bought the new one, installed it and no issues. 3 years isn't terrible but do wish it worked longer but the back door is used more since the dogs go in and out the back yard. I did turn off the autolock and have my Hubitat relock every 15 minutes.

Satisfied overall, but need a home alarm system for remote access
This lock was easy to install, and that comes from someone who is less than handy. It was easy to program codes and also to reset it to work with my existing house key. Yay to not needing to add more keys to my key ring! The backlight on the keypad isn’t very bright, so when I’m trying to type in my code at nighttime, it can be a bit difficult. You should turn on the light by hitting the center lock button before typing your code. Still, it can be a bit hard to see. The main part I was disappointed about is that there is no app specific to this device that allows you to lock/unlock remotely or see when the lock has been operated. Instead, you have to connect it through a google home security system or ring alarm system. As I didn’t have either, I ended up purchasing the ring alarm. I was then able to connect it to my lock and operate it through the ring app. I was disappointed in the added expense, but now I can unlock my door for visitors using my phone, and I can also see when someone else has unlocked it.

🏡 Used with smart home 🏡
I have used this lock with my smart home system. It was easy to connect to the smart home hub and program pin codes. I also can note that it works without a smart home hub and pin codes can be programmed by following the instructions. The batteries last for about a half a year to a year depending on your door traffic. I had three people using the door and had to replace them every six months. It was easy to install in place of the existing deadbolt. You may need something to expand the hole in your door frame if needed. I didn't have a chisel on hand and used a sharp flathead screwdriver. You will need a drill to screw in the new deadbolt plate into the door frame as chances are it will not line up with your existing one.

Lock is really good and easy to install with given instructions. Battery lock screw was missing only issue i found.

The install takes no time at all, learning it to alarm.com is even easier when pairing to the panel, and so far has been working to perfection. Will be looking to get 1 more shortly for the last door, truly a 'must have' in today's keyless world.

Functions as designed but consumes 4 x AA batteries about every 3 months!

Showed up quickly, relatively easy to install and works great with the Ring and Alexa set up. Only minor change I'd like to see would be if it auto locked when the alarm system was armed.

Lock was installed on my back door. I run a business from my home and wanted to be able to unlock my door from upstairs when I knew clients were arriving. Was only used a couple times a day and would very quickly drain the batteries. In less then two years it stopped working altogether. I took it apart to see why and seems the wires to the battery pack have corroded. Now the lock doesn’t work at all without the key which is useless to me!
