Awesome Light, Awesome Value, an Absolute Homerun from Neewer
I've used many, many lights before; studio strobes, hotshoe flashes, tungsten, led, household incandescent, fluorescent, custom (homemade) lighting rigs, you name it, I've tried it. If you are looking for a quality product at a good price point, this is for you. If you want to add a portable strobe to your arsenal, one that can hang with some of the big boys of lighting but doesn't cost the same as a new honda, this is for you. When I first started my photography business I shot exclusively outdoors, natural light is the best light ya know? Then I realized the lighting wasn't always optimal and so I started using a hotshoe flash but I recognized that it still wasn't always enough. Then one day, a friend of mine asked me to check out his new lights, a set of the Neewer C300 lights that he got for less than my single canon brand flash unit. I was shocked to see all the features they had and the impressive quality considering the price he paid. I was hooked. This light is incredible. Portraits in the bright midday sun? Not a problem. Lighting a whole group of groomsmen easily with just one light? Check. It is incredibly easy to use, I charged the battery and took the light to a wedding the day I got it and never read the instructions because I didn't have to, the interface on the rear is very straightforward and the display is easy to read. The build quality is great; at that same wedding, a gust of wind caught the included umbrella and even with 2 sandbags on the stand, the light fell into the deck piling, the stand was bent but the light was unaffected. The housing is plastic but it is very durable. The battery life is great. I've shot a handful of events with this light now, 2 long weddings, some half-day bridal sessions, and a handful of portrait sessions. The light has never died on me or even taken too long to recycle. At a 10-hour wedding I shot on-and-off with it all day at various power settings and at the end of the night it was still firing away at the dance floor without issue. The one thing I can't speak to is the wireless transmitter, as I always shoot tethered to the long cord. Just a personal choice so I'm never too far away from the light. I've learned the hard way 3 times now (so maybe I haven't actually learned) not to leave the light around at busy events, because people will inevitably touch it, bump it, knock it over.

Great.
Bought 2 for outdoor shoots. Even bought 2 extra batteries but still have not had to change batteries mid shoot. Take anywhere great light.

Amazing professional light for a low price.
Neat shape of the soft box, I really like the octagon. Solid body on the light itself which gives it some weight, but not a whole lot. Can get pretty bright on the highgest setting and won't lose brightness until the battery is completely dead. Fast recycle time too which saves a lot of time. The trigger works well too and also has a good battery life. This is definitely designd for professionals.

Great value, works with 3rd-party triggers
I haven't used this on a job yet, but initial unboxing and testing seems to agree with all the other 5-star reviews. This thing is awesome, works great out of the box, and DOES work with other triggers. The trigger that comes with this strobe takes a strange battery type, and I would rather use my other Cactus V5 triggers, which do work great. As long as you can plug your trigger into the Sync port on this strobe, it should work fine.I'll edit my review at a later time after I've used this strobe for some gigs but right now: I love it, great quality, awesome price, it's everything I could hope for!

Really good value for a battery powered strobe
Make no mistake about it, this thing gets the job done and is really great value. However, the soft box sucks. I've ended up using my cheap umbrella instead. It would be amazing it came with a proper Bowen's mounted soft box. The remote trigger is also sort of sucky. It isn't compatible with other neewer 2.4ghz flash kits. I ended up buying one of their speed lite kits that came with two flash triggers. I use one of them on a wired tether with this strobe and fire the odd man out as a slave flash. It works pretty well; but it's irritating that the Neewer gear isn't all compatible with their other products. My only other complaint (so far) is that the joint between the grip/stand mount and the strobe unit itself is kind of wobbly even when tightened down as tight as I can get it. The flash itself has a ton of power and is near perfect (maybe a little bulky) for hand held real estate fills and decent for on the go portraits too.

Great Light, But Can't Point Down w/ Umbrella
I love most aspects of this light. It fires reliably and the battery life has been great so far. But one glaring issue which seems to be a design flaw: when using the umbrella, the zipper opening in the umbrella (which the light stand passes through) only allows you to point the light straight forward or slightly upward. If you want the light to flow downward - meaning, the flash unit itself is pointing upward and the umbrella then reflects light downward - you have to attach the umbrella outside of the stand (so the stand no longer goes through the zipper opening), and then attach the white diffusion panel. But, you will not be able to velcro the panel all around the face of the umbrella due to the stand being in the way. See photos for reference. This is a big disappointment to those like me who shoot portraits and constantly need the light source to flow downward.

Worked great with Canon Eos
The media could not be loaded. I would not recommend this for used in inclement weather, but it did stand up to a light, unexpected drizzle due to the protection of the soft box, which was a nice accessory to have. This was a great little flash to add to my system. Worked as advertised

The Only Good Cheap Battery Powered Strobe
I have four of these and I love them. Allows me to setup a multiple light shoot anywhere cordless. Battery life is very long even on full power you get 1000 shots plus. Strobe recycles fast & doesn't miss fire. Only bad part is the menu system is not user friendly; lots of clicking through menus to change modes. No high speed sync but I don't expect that at this price.

Love this flash
Works great! Cheaper than other brands out there. A bit bulky but not a big deal. Cars also slow down when you pull it out of your vehicle on the street!

Awesome so far.
I bought two of these and have had them at only 3 shoots so far. Each shoot has had more than 100 flashes and I haven't charged them since my first charge. So far so good! Even at full or half power, the recycle is fast.I have yet to be able to locate a replacement, or back-up battery for these. I am hoping that I have just not looked in the right place as having a spare or two would be awesome. The lights are light, and I've already found the pistol grip useful.I will be purchasing more to round out my lighting setup.
