Bridge stability is the name of this game
To be honest, I haven’t heard any noticeable difference in tone since installing these in my American HSS Stratocaster (two single coil/two humbucker pickups). However, that’s certainly not what I was after in the first place.Like a lot of folks who own Strats with stock floating bridges, I’ve encountered numerous tuning issues when operating the tremolo. Short of having a Floyd Rose system installed which obviously would have cost beaucoup bucks, I think I’ve tried just about everything in the book in attempting to solve this problem:- Decking the block using the claw and bridge mounting screws, since I only use the tremolo for dives.- Installing block-style bridge string saddles.- Various numbers and configuration of springs.- Modifying bridge plate mounting (example: 2 outside screws tight as pivot points, middle 4 raised slightly for stability).- In-cavity tremolo stabilizers.- Half-loop string wrapping around the machine heads.- Nut and saddle lubrication using Burt’s Bees, a #2 graphite pencil, etc. (always a good idea anyway).I’m probably forgetting some other things, but I’m sure you get the picture. Unfortunately, all of this was in vain, despite jumping through more hoops than a circus animal. The one thing that really helped was to install 5 springs, but using Fender parts that required far too much pressure on the tremolo arm to press it fully down. All that said, after reading many shining reviews about this product on the web, I thought I’d give them a try.Since they apply less force than Fender springs, I was in business and able to install all 5 while still being able to easily bomb the arm. In fact, it actually feels like I only have 3 springs installed.I was even able to release some pressure on the claw, yet the bridge remained fully decked. The difference in the ability to remain in-tune is now like night and day. In my opinion, this is due to these springs applying equal pressure across the entire tremolo block. While not perfect (nothing is), this product provided me with far more bridge stabilization than anything else I’ve tried up to this point, and for a mere 25 bucks. I’m kicking myself for not trying them sooner!

5 and Floating
These were a great addition to my 50”s Vintera Strat. I started of with 10’s (old set) and was able to remove the three factory springs and replace with four of the Raw Vintage at pretty much a dead even swap. Much more resonance acoustically and plugged in. A couple of days later I did a full set up with 9’s (down from 10’s) and added the 5th spring. I am very satisfied with the Raw Vintage springs.

Easy mod
This allows you to add 5 springs while maintaining the feel of having 3 springs installed. As others have said, the tension is like having 3 stock springs. Tremelo action feels great and you get the 5 spring effect which resonates a bit more. Nice, easy, cheap, mod.

Better tone More stability
These springs were worth the price. The 5 springs have about the same tension as 3 of my old springs.I noticed an improvement in tone. The springs are an important part in the chain of connectivity and have a big effect on tone. 5 instead of 3 is just more of a good thing!

Changes your tone! (in a good way)
I did some YouTube searches for new tremolo springs for a Stratocaster and this is what came up. I thought I’d give it a shot, so I bought them and I am speechless! First, it’s aesthetically appealing with all of the chrome parts. The original Fender springs were black and didn’t really catch my eye, but these new ones are amazing! It enhances the tone of your guitar slightly while giving you the tension you want on your tremolo. (I am experimenting with all 5 springs at at the moment). Overall, I’m pleased with the product! If you have a Strat give these a shot if you’re looking for a slight tonal change in your rig.

Excellent springs
Every time I buy a guitar that require this kind of springs I do this . I order Raw Vintage before having the instrument. Then when I have the guitar in hand I remove the back cover , throw away what in inside and install it his guys. That’s it. That’s the first step even before test pickups.Since I discovered this springs I honestly didn’t know about the importance of the springs in this kind of set up. Now I highly recommend them.Playability and feel sky rocket. Stability increases. I tell you a little secret... shh... buy also tusq nut 5000 series for strat and remove the string tree from the head stock and your tremolo will play more stable that a violin. Shh... don’t tell anybody

Making the tremolo actually usable
Tried 3 springs, 4,5 different stiffness from stock to the fender vintage but nothing can really compare to those in term of expressiveness even more with all of them on the guitar. Having all the 5 also definitely helps with tuning stability and they are well suited for floating setups. As for the sound, which is debated a lot on forums, your ears are the guide, it doesn’t change radically the sound of the guitar but in my experience having more springs connected to the body do make a difference. Also something quite important, the springs are looser and make more sound (the strat’s reverb thing ), it’s why I like them but if you look for noiseless dampened springs it just won’t work.

Exactly what I needed
I'd been fighting a guitar for years that wanted to either sit too low on the tremolo (too much spring) or too high(not enough spring).I was able to mix three of these with two of the originals to get me just enough tension for the bridge to sit level.Great value for the money.
