Great fitment
Disclaimer: I only used the main piece and the little pocket. I used the mounting brackets that came with my head unit. This trim fits very well. The plastic is not an exact match for the factory plastics, but it’s close enough and does not bug me. Panel gaps are very consistent and match the rest of the vehicle. Installation was very simple on my 2005 Mazda 3.

It is compatible 100%
Excellent because it comes with the part that replaces the screen that is also part of the original car stereo

A fairly-priced Mazda3 dash kit
I received my double din dash kit and installed it this weekend with ease. The instructions are sufficient and the fit is actually quite snug; No rattles and it doesn't budge when I push on it. There's about an 1/8" even gap between the climate controls and the dash kit but compared to the stock stereo, it's not really that noticeable (unless you're very anal). I purchased a single din Metra kit (Metra 99-7504 Single DIN Installation Dash Kit for 2004-2009 Mazda 3 (Black)) that didn't fit nearly as well but I just got an in-dash DVD unit (Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD In-Dash Double-DIN DVD Multimedia AV Receiver) and decided to try Metra again anyway and I don't regret it.My only real gripe with it (which isn't a deal-breaker for me) is the color of the kit doesn't quite match the surrounding trim. In direct sunlight you can definitely tell it's a lighter black (grayish I suppose) but that's only when there's a lot of light on it. But hey, you get what you pay for and this is a great economic solution to swapping that huge stock radio to a nice in-dash DVD/GPS receiver.

Exactly what is needed
I had the metra single din for my 2004 Mazda 3. It fit great and matched the centre square of the dash (above the vents/hazard switch) and the climate section. This is the exact same with just a bigger hole.I switched to the double because i mounted my Nexus 7 in my car and an in car entertainment and nav. fits nicely in with no more gap than the stock had. I can't comment on the side plates that screw to a normal double din unit because i used a tablet, but the fascia goes in easily. I glued magnets to the screw holes on top and didn't put the lock clips on the bottom hooks. This way i can easily remove the fascia to get to my tablet and flash drive but it still sits solid in place.

Great item. Fits well.
Fantastic. It is a plain grey finish, which I believe matches the factory mazda3. I have a mazdaspeed 3, with the gloss black. This is not a mistake, or an issue of any variety with the seller, just how these are sold. So I sanded mine down, and wrapped it with 3M Gloss black vinyl. Looks factory now.

Fits a 2007 Mazda 3 Hatchback
I installed this in my 2007 Mazda 3 Hatchback with a Kenwood receiver. This is a reasonably priced kit, but ultimately, you get what you pay for.The plastic is cheap, the instructions were poor, the color doesn't completely match the dash, and there is a small gap between my climate controls and the bottom of the kit (nothing horrible, but I notice it). I could not get the double din trim plate to fit my Kenwood without pushing the receiver back, so I just left it off, but it looks alright. Also, I have an automatic climate control system and the kit does not accommodate the LCD panel, you only receive a display replacement pocket, so I will need to custom mount the LCD panel.Overall, this kit works but I would prefer to spend more money for a higher quality product.Pros:InexpensiveEasy to install (once you figure out the instructions)Cons:Cheap plasticPoor instructionsDoes not accommodate climate control LCD panelGap between kit and climate controlsColor and texture do not fully match

It work’s as perfection!
I’ve installed it, and it’s working perfectly fine, and it even gave me the feature to make the window go up without me having to press it until done (automatically going up and down). I recommend it!

Good Fit and Great Finish
For the most part, installation was simple and it mounted flush with the car's original trim. The fit and finish are all very good. However, like every other dash kit I have worked with, the inner trim piece does not fit flush with the outer trim piece. Again, I have yet to see a dash kit with perfect trim, so this should not be taken as a huge negative.Concerning the Mazda 3's (2008 in my case) upper lcd display, the kit comes with a tray that you can use in place of the display, or clips that you can use to remount the lcd after removing it from the stock headunit. Just keep in mind that you will loose your clock and trip information from the display. You can check out the online forums for more details on preserving the lcd info display.
