Couple issues but overall happy
Upon opening the box one of the pieces of wood was chipped. One of the side walls had a light yellow discoloration. The door latches are a little tight when locking and unlocking but hopefully as we use it, they will loosen some.Overall it’s very cute and will compliment any room!

Great...BUT
This is cute and does look nice in my living room compared to a metal kennel. I like it but the spacing of the dowels gives the dogs plenty of room to chew them up and escape. I only leave them in it for maybe 2 hours to run errands and the first day it was destroyed. I have a pomeranian and westie. They both fit nicely in it but I'm not happy they were able to get out in a day. In my opinion it's not worth the price to be that easily chewed through. I of course leave bones, toys and other treats.

It's weird that there is no bottom piece, just a plastic tray that slides in for the base.
Was not easy to put together even for a seasoned IKEA user from back in the day. Difficult and time consuming. Would happily have paid an extra $20 to have some of the hinges and metal pieces already attached in the right places, or even the trim pieces could have been easily installed to save unnecessary work.Having no feet or wheels on the bottom of the unit looks a little weird sitting right on the ground. It appears like it's missing something. But I have it in a back room and I like that the two front doors completely flip open and wrap around the sides because I never close them, and they can sit tight to side walls and not flop open in front. It's just used for toy storage and a place for my dog to bury treats that he ultimately won't eat but seems to enjoy stashing.

Pretty, but too many issues for the price.
Since there is no 2.5, I’ll round up. Positives: The side (short) door can be switched based on location of the crate (in the promo pic it’s on the left, I choose to place it on the right which I was glad I could do so). The double door side is unable to be switched to the other side, but that doesn’t matter because the side door can be built on either side making that change a mute point. I like the extra strip on the double door side. You can open them regularly (first picture), but they have a strip of wood that allows you to open the full door that sits flush with the short sides making a greater opening (second pic). Negatives: the latches are useless. If you would like an anxiety reducing crate for your dog that is to just have next to your couch or desk or available to have as a “cave/cover” concept creating their own space, it works. When I tested the latches out with my dog, she was able to figure out how to open them within a half hour. It is not a crate to crate train for a puppy, nor one for a Houdini dog. Many of the pieces came scratched and one entire side had a significant crack that I just glued together. It may be lazy thinking, but I figured scratches would happen anyway and therefore I won’t try to return it. Like other reviews, the tray is way smaller than the perimeter. I knew this buying it, but had I known just how small it really was I probably would have passed. Lastly, the wood bar to hide the tray attaches to nothing and is not even a useful fit, so I think it looks better just without it. The concept of having a crate that looks nicer than a wire crate is appealing, but after assembling (with horrible instructions -luckily I’ve put enough furniture together to go with the flow) it is not worth the price. Like other reviews, go with gorilla glue lest it will fall apart, and understand it’s probably not going to be a crate for the long haul. Lastly, listen to the other reviews! I didn’t take them seriously enough. None seemed too major to keep me from buying the product, but stacked all together it’s not worth it and your money could get you a better product that actually would function as crate was meant to be used.

I like it and my dog LOVES it.
I read most of the reviews AFTER I ordered this (I know, I know) and started to panic when a lot of them weren’t great, specifically about the flimsy locks for the doors. At that point, I figured I’d just have to wait and see for myself. My wait was shorter than expected as the crate arrived a day earlier than anticipated.I unboxed the crate and immediately inspected for defects or missing pieces. All pieces were accounted for but there was a very minor scratch on one of the trim pieces that go on towards the bottom. It was very small and I honestly can’t say if it was shipped like that or if I was not careful and made the scratch when unboxing. It was so tiny though so I was ok with it.The instructions state that it’s best to have two people assemble the dog crate but I did it myself and it was fairly simple. The instructions could be better; there were only pictures and they were not that great either but I was able to figure them out just fine. One thing I think is odd, is that there is a latch that goes on the inside of the double doors. I guess that maybe they added this to make them more secure after receiving customer feedback but it’s in a strange and inconvenient place. It does make those doors much more secure though. I tested how it sturdy the latches were on the double doors without that inside lock and they were pretty flimsy. I locked it back up and it’s very secure again. I have tiny hands so I can maneuver them in to flip the lock but I could see it being an issue for someone with regular to larger sized hands. Now, I have thought that maybe I put the lock on incorrectly but I aligned them with the pre drilled holes and followed the drawing on the instructions; I think it’s just the way it is.In truth, at one point during assembly I thought that it was not going to be sturdy at all but once I tightened the flat screw things (Idk what they’re called) it became much more structurally sound. Dare I say, it’s pretty sturdy! Just don’t turn the screws too tight.Once I finished with the assembly, I was relieved that the crate was better than how it’s described in many of the reviews. It’s super cute! I felt that it wasn’t necessary to use wood glue or attach additional latches, as some have, when I had everything together. I’m not opposed to doing so if I have to in the future, but i think it’ll keep my dog safe and secure as it is now.I will note that the tray that is included is a bit small, but I put my dog’s bed on top of it and that fits perfectly. I have an adult dog and this will work fine for us but, because there isn’t a bottom, I’d probably recommend another crate if you are buying for a puppy or to crate train.Speaking of my dog, I adopted him about a year ago. I bought a canvas crate when he first came home and he did not like it AT ALL. With this new crate though, he’ been lounging in there like he’s owned it for years. He appears very comfortable and seems to love it!Pros:AttractiveEasy to AssembleSturdyDog loves itConsWeird inside placement for extra lock for the double doors (that’s if I assembled it correctly)

Looks nice !
We put our small dogs inside when it’s hot 🥵 & they do come in at night time we have coyotes in our area so keeping the dogs in at night helps them be safe just have a deodorizer may be on your wall next to it or a plug-in!

looks great
Looks great in our house, the bottom tray a little annoying as it can slide out. The doors needed a better lock as our little dog pushed through. Otherwise our dog loved it and it certainly looks like part of the furrniture.

Thin wooden spindles can be easily chewed through
Would be far superior if it had metal spindles. A major shortfall in this attractive looking crate.

Functional and better looking then traditional cages
Easy to assemble and it’s cute and functional for a dog jail. I have it upstairs in hallway for when my dog has allergy attacks so she doesn’t throw snot everywhere . And it’s a big roomy size for my 7lbs maltese

Not built well and already falling apart
Low quality. One side already is coming apart and won't tighten anymore. Bought in September.
