I'd expect they would work great for gaming too but I bought them to use ...
This is my second pair of this headset. I bent the plug on the first pair and caused a short when trying to bend it back which caused a lot of static. They get a lot of use but not from gaming. I'd expect they would work great for gaming too but I bought them to use with my phone. They were some of the only 4pole plug over the ear with a boom mic headsets that I could find. I wanted something comfortable to use when talking to my girlfriend in which conversations can last hours. We talk for a bit every night and I didn't want to hold a phone to my ear for that amount of time. I wanted over the ear type for comfort and to help block out background noises. They were going to be used a phone almost exclusively so I wanted something with a 4pole plug. You can buy adapters for all the other gaming headsets out there but I figured why bother with another piece when I didn't have to. As for the boom mic, well I'm a little skeptical of those mics attached to the cord or on the earpiece. I've used various sets like that and they seem to pick up more ambient noises. I figured that gaming headsets had boom mics because they were designed for tow way communication as opposed to a listening device that 'can' be used for two way communication. They worked so well I ordered another pair when I bent the plug on the first pair. I also ordered a pair for my girlfriend. She often lays down or in bed when we talk at the end of the day. I can always tell because her voice gets muffled and I miss half of what shes saying. I tell her I can't hear her but she insists shes holding the phone correctly. now that she uses this headset i can hear her clearly all the time. I think it's due to the boom mic. Had the mic been in the cord on on the earpiece, it could get covered while laying in bed.So I highly recommend these for anyone looking for a comfortable headset to wear while communicating for long periods of time on a phone.

Great for the price
For the price this headset is great. I use it primarily on my PS4 so I love the fact that it has the 4 prong jack and plugs right into the controller without the need for an additional adapter. Every other headset comes with the two 3 prong plugs and with like a 10 foot cable. That's fine for a PC but for playstation, I don't want a mile of cable on my lap.I also like that these have 50mm drivers where most others in this price range have 40mm ones. Does that make a difference? I don't know but bigger is better I guess. One thing is that the volume on these are not too loud. I can put them up to 100% and tolerate it easily. I usually keep them around 80% though. The mic is good. It's flexible and has good sound quality. You could flip it up when your're not using it. You can also flip it completely around so that it comes down the right side of your mouth but then the speakers would be on the wrong side and the game would sound weird. The earcup pads aren't that comfortable. The foam is a little stiff and the fabric isnt that soft. It's alright though. The headset is very light so you barely notice its on. The whole thing is plastic but if you're careful with it, it should be fine. I also like that the earcups don't swivel. They move a little bit but don't completely turn 90 deg. I have a pair of headphones that do and it's supposed to be for folding them flat (which I don't do) but they just get all twisted when i take them off.

I have had this headset for a while now, and I have to say I am quite fond of it.Design: The headset has a black housing with subtle red elements that give nice accents to the headset without looking too much like a "gamer-oriented" headset. The earcups allow breathing but fail to block out noises in the background.Comfort: This is one of the most comfortable headsets I have worn. The swiveling cups and side adjustments make for an easy fit for any head. The top padding helps to reduce the already light pressure applied by the weight of the headset.Sound quality: Listening to music and watching movies are enjoyable while wearing this headset. Bass is a bit heavy due to the intended gaming market. The cable features a control hub that features a wheel to increase and decrease the volume. Playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive while wearing the headset improved my spatial awareness and allowed me to reach a higher position on the leaderboard. Overall, I would say the audio is better than usual for the price, although a dedicated set of headphones would outperform them.Microphone: People I have talked to in games and over Discord and Skype have said that the microphone quality outperforms other microphones you could find in a package like this. The mic is adjustable and includes a windscreen to reduce hissing while making "s" sounds. The control hub on the cable features a mute switch for convenience.Extras: The box also includes a 4-Pole splitter for use with desktops that increases the length of the cable. Also included is a Turtle Beach sticker, if you're into that.Overall, I have enjoyed using this headset for the duration I've had it. I would recommend this to somebody looking for a inexpensive headset that performs well in games.
