This thing is awesome and works flawlessly.

So far, they work impeccably.

My wife and I sleep with a fan but neither one of us wants to get out of bed in the morning to turn it off. Not a problem anymore. Easy enough to set up and the app makes it super convenient to control from anywhere. Can even be set to a schedule if so desired. We love it.

I bought the plug initially for the purpose of turning on/off some lights and overall, the product works but there are some quirks.1. The QR code on the side of the plug installed the plug under Smart Things. I followed thru the workflow and IU had no problems except how to use it to schedule when to use the plug. I eventually figured out that there was a Cync app which solved that issue...so I'd recommend that the company update the QR code to install their app.2. Setting up the device was extremely easy. Creating a Routine was a breeze but it didn't work and after 2 hours I had to call their tech support. The guy was very friendly and helpful, he told me that on one page, I had to toggle the device on. I asked him to forward this "defect" to their support team.3. I learned that this device doesn't offer energy usage monitoring so I'm returning it.

Works great and worth the money! You have to get the cync app so that it can work. I have it on a schedule to power on and off my device at a certain time.

I have a lot of experience with smart home/commercial control systems dating back many years to Elan, Control4, Lutron & Homeseer. Currently have a mix of Casetta and Z-Wave devices controlled by a Raspberry Pi fed thru Google Home UI. All this to say, these GE plugs are the worst devices I’ve ever known. I used 1 for a holiday tree & another for a fan in the home gym. The tree was set to a routine, switching on an hr before sunset and off before bed. About 10% of the time, it would come on. Same for the fan. Nothing worse than being on the treadmill, get hot, tell Google to turn on the workout fan and it says it’s offline. Pause the treadmill, crawl behind some junk in the garage to push the button on the side of the plug to turn the fan on. It’s infuriating. Same for crawling on the floor behind the Christmas tree to turn it on. These things are within 10ft of a Nest mesh router, there’s no reason for them to be randomly offline. They belong in the trash. Don’t waste your $$$.
