Works well but setting up needs a bit better documentation.
This USB dongle will get iplayer, youtube etc on a Humax HDR-2000T TV recorder (PVR). Our PVR and dongle were both purchased January 2016 and setting up the dongle was not entirely straightforward so I will describe what we did as follows: first plug in the dongle to the front of the PVR (there is also a USB socket on the back). Turn on the TV and PVR then on the PVR controller press Menu>settings>system>internet setting (i.e. using up/down buttons and OK to choose each stage). Then select ‘Configure WiFi’ and press ‘right’ button. If your Wi-Fi network name does not appear in the list (or there is no list at all) then the dongle is not picking it up. This happened in our case and the solution was to replug in the dongle using a short USB extension cable. Start again from the beginning! After this the network name appeared and so we pressed ‘OK’ on that. Then ‘down’ – it jumped over the security type which it appeared to have picked up (WEP hex in our case) and we pressed ‘OK’ on ‘password’. You get a type of keyboard then but this didn’t work for us so we pressed ‘OK’ on the ‘keyboard’ in the upper right position. A different keyboard then appeared and enabled us to type in numbers and (capital) letters of the password found on our Wi-Fi router– it showed a key, press red for delete, yellow for finish. After finishing the password, ‘down’ to ‘Apply’, press ‘OK’ and hold your breath. After a pause it admitted that it was connected. Now on the hand controller press ‘OK’, ‘exit’ and then ‘TV Apps’. Another pause and then the screen with iplayer etc appeared. You just use the up/down/left/right button to select ‘iplayer’, ‘youtube’ etc and press ‘OK’. The iplayer does not come up in HD – only standard low resolution. To finish with it, press ‘exit’. If the PVR is switched off, it may not reconnect to your router on switching on again. In that case, use the Menu to get internet settings again, do not change any of them but just go down to ‘Apply’ and press ‘OK’ on that.

Works ok, but some report problems - read on!
I have a Humax 2000T Freeview box and this has enabled it to link up to my wi-fi network.Straightforward set-up and enter the router password when requested. It then reports the connection as being successful. However, some people, on the Humax forum, have trouble. When they try to open the Humax Portal, it says no internet connection is available. To overcome this, go back into the system/internet settings and select Configure wi-fi. Do not alter any of the settings, but go to the bottom button 'Apply' and press it. Do same again with the Configure LAN. The connection should then be ok, unless you have entered wrong info'.The dongle works ok and in some reports it is best positioned near to the router, not the next room.Any other problems go to the Humax Forum where there is a lot of help and advice.

Dongle that's a doddle to install.
I bought this dongle to use with my new Humax HDR-2000T 500GB freeview box instead of having the Ethernet cable trailing halfway around the living room. I spent a fair amount of time researching which dongle to get as I was lead to believe that Humax do 2, one generic one and one that is only compatible with the Humax Fox HDR T2 box. I wasn't 100% convinced that this was the correct dongle for the 2000T but I decided to take the risk and ordered it. When it arrived the sticker on the packaging referred to the Fox HDR T2 so I wasn't very hopeful about it working but it did! Really easy to set up and the network password seems to stay stored so no need to keep running the instillation process each time. I've not used it a huge amount to watch anything on BBC iPlayer yet so I can't really comment on whether the network drops out at all when using it for a longer length of time. Overall, very happy with the purchase and the great price!

Works fine but not in our house
I got this to allow our connect our Humax Freesat box to our Broadband Wifi router.Connecting up the Freesat box in our bedroom and plugging this dongle in and it connected to our WiFi through the booster we have for the router to get around a weak signal in one of the other bedrooms.Connecting the box downstairs in our kitchen and even with the booster in the kitchen about 3 yards away from the dongle we couldn't get a signal.I've since given the dongle to my mother-in-law as she has a Humax box and one of these dongles already so she now has a spare in case anything happens to her existing one.

Ding-dong dongle
There are mixed reviews on how well these dong! As they are cheaper than buying two plug socket types I decided to buy one from Ammo in case I needed to return. Plugged into the back of the new Humax HD recorder and it worked straight away..up came set-up on screen, one click and away I went into the realms of on-demand telly and recording two programmes at once. It's worth the money because it is hassle-free and it works. I am in a good area for broadband reception so there is no reason why it shouldn't work but I'm happy with this purchase.

Somewhat disappointing. Came with no instructions. It is not a simple matter of plugging it in and getting access you have to log on to a different device and get a password which lasts 3 hours. Even then although device says it is connected to my wireless LAN, whenever I try to access anything it insists I am not connected so just go round in ever decreasing circles. I do not think this is the suppliers fault it is a problem with the Humax set-up itself which seems particularly non-intuitive and unhelpful.

Great product once set up
Using it on a Humax 1000s, Came with a c.d no info. for what its for. After plugging dongle in it found the networks but could not connect to my BTHUB3. After changing my router password to an 8 digit code as some Amazon customers suggested it still would not connect. I then checked the firmware for the 1000s which was correct, but came across in a forum about doing a factory reset which I did and yes it works now. Used it a lot and works great, so if you have probs. try reset 1st then change password to 8 digits 2nd as this will mean you need to set up all your network devices again.

Empfehlenswert!
