I purchased this attachment since I was impatient to wait for the actual Dyson one to come back in stock on their website. It arrived quickly and connects with my Dyson hairdryer seemlessly. This new style diffuser works so well for curly / wavy hair, iactually spinning your hair in the cup when you remove the "teeth" on the diffuser. Additionally, I find that my hair dries much more quickly with this diffuser thereby exposing my hair to less heat damage. It is a few bucks less than the Dyson model, so I think I think all around it is an excellent investment for curly folks.

My daughter, who has curly hair, tested this diffuser against the original Dyson one and actually prefers this version. While it gets noticeably hotter, even at the lowest setting, she likes that it blows more softly than the Dyson diffuser. It seems to create more airflow resistance, which results in both a gentler breeze and increased heat retention—something to keep in mind. Despite the added heat, she plans to keep using it because she prefers the overall drying experience. A solid alternative for those who want a softer airflow!

Why did you choose this product over others?: Works really well on my shark hair dryer. Fits well and is easy to attach. I can’t compare it to the official version as I haven’t tried it but I would say this is a great alternative at a great cost. Feels good quality and is very well made and does the job nicely. Would recommend.
