Easy install, works well
Despite mixed reviews for this toilet lock, I purchased two to fit relatively standard toilets in my home. Installation took under two minutes, and I didn't have any problems with reaching into the toilet to complete the installation. You shouldn't have to get dirty, in the water or otherwise too up close with gross. Besides, a little soap and water can go a long way if you aren't unreasonably squeemish about poopies (if you have kids and you aren't over it yet. . . you may have a problem with OCD).I am sure that in some situations the lock would break if it was subjected to repeated or significant force, but my 13 month old cannot open it. I try to prevent her from playing near the toilet anyway, through parenting rather than gadgets, but the lock gives me peace of mind that she won't make a mess or get hurt if she gets by my watchful eye.I am only giving 4 stars on account of the perceived chance of the lock failing or breaking under ordinary use (like if a guest tries to opent the toilet without unlocking it) and the fact that my plastic toilet seat has been slightly damaged on the bottom by the lock. There are several chips and dings around the edge of the seat where parts of the lock are sandwiched between the seat and the rim of the bowl with some force when people sit down on the toilet. Please don't comment that I am being unduly harsh. I say that the product is a steal for what it costs, but it isn't perfect, and 4/5 seems fair to me.

Works well & does the job.
On one toilet I only need two spacers, on the other I have to use four. On the toilet with only two spacers, my daughter can't get in it. On the other, she can if she tries hard enough but it takes her enough effort that I have time to intercept! lol. The one with more spacers doesn't fit as tightly and it can slide around to the front which is enough to release it. It does it's job well though, I don't really see a way of making it better unless they came in a size one and a size two (for narrow and wide rims) so only one or two spacers are necessary. It is super-easy to release and lock when trying to open the toilet. Basically, it does the job and unless you have a really narrow rim on your toilet (like one of mine is) it should work really well. It works best on my toilet with a wide rim though.

This actually works as intended when installed properly.
I almost didn't buy this because of the video where the toddler just pulls it right off the seat. After owning it, it is pretty clear to me that whoever made that video didn't install it properly. It comes with a series of plastic spacers that you need to connect to it in order to make it fit snugly on the toilet. Once on, with the lid closed there is no way it is coming off. It is frustrating that it is not adjustable in terms of lid size, so if you have thin toilet lids like mine, your kiddo will still people to raise the lid up enough to possible reach their hands in. That said, it has made it difficult enough for my son that when these are installed he doesn't bother with the toilet anymore.

Works just fine with a little attention..
We installed these toilet seat locks on both of our toilets when my son started walking and we noticed he developed an interest in opening the toilet lids and splashing the water inside. They have worked about as good as I could expect. He largely lost interest in toilet splashing about a week after they were installed. It is true that if enough force is applied at the right location and your toddler essentially hangs off of them, they could be broken. My suggestion is, simply discourage them from tampering with the locks if you are in the bathroom with them. Additionally turning the bathroom light off and shutting the entry door goes a long way as well. The two locks have been on our toilets about a year now without issue. My son rarely bothers with them, which is what I had hoped would happen and the reason why I'm giving a five star review.

Some assembly required - 1/2 a bottle of wine required
So far so good. The setup instruction could be a little more detailed. Illustration diagram 3 and 4 do not truly show how the 'insert slide clamp' inserts into the slot of Lid -Lok assembly. In fact, Illustrations 3 and 4 depict the rotation of the Lid-Loc arm described in the 'Intructions For Use' more so than the actual assembly step they are supposedly there for...

Works great with a little modification.
These work great with a water-curious two year old grandson, who just recently discovered that toilets are an easy to access water source. We have two toilets of different dimensions, and the lid-loks installed easily on both of them. I came up with my own fix for the gap that results when the lid is lifted. I cut out some pads from a pair of 98 cent flip-flops from Walmart, and contact cemented them onto the locks. One toilet only needed one, and the other one needed a double-stack. This modification turned a 1" gap into a 1/4" gap. The manufacturer should consider including spacer pads in the package. I have attached a photo.

Fits, but not perfectly
This product works so far. The spacers that adjust the fit around the bowl make sense, but they need them for the top latch as well. It rests about an inch and a half above the toilet seat, meaning that it can be opened that much. So, it keeps my child from playing in the water, or falling in, but it won't prevent him from wedging something under the seat and into the bowl should he ever get the notion to flush something down.

not glamorous but works
it does the job--our 1 year old isn't spending all day trying to get into the toilet anymore (sigh). not a flawless design but its inexpensive and does the trick. my husband installed it so i can't speak to the ease of that part but he isn't necessarily the handiest person in the world and he wasn't in either bathroom too long...so that's a good sign! we bought two and are glad we did!

Está bien pero me parece caro
Es muy caro para ser un pinza para enganchar en el WC. Además es fácil de quitar por lo que no resulta muy práctico
