Excellent, good quality electric toothbrush
This toothbrush is wonderful. It is so effective and my gums and teeth have ever felt cleaner or healthier. The beeping system for changing to different quadrants is helpful for making sure you clean each area equally effectively. The charge is pretty reasonable, while it takes a while to fully charge it does last quite well. I don't have a shaver socket so bought an adaptor to a normal 3 prong plug for quite cheap.I only really use the normal cleaning mode as I do not have sensitive teeth so I can't comment on that. I do sometimes use the polishing mode, not sure how much different it is but my teeth are lovely and white since using this toothbrush. It has definitely helped to get rid of old tea and coffee stains! While I have only had this toothbrush for a few weeks I am hoping it will last for a long time as my last Braun toothbrush was reliable for around a decade. While the price does seem quite high I would suggest that it is worth every penny!

Fantastic product
This toothbrush is really good, the size of head is perfect, not too big, and small and compact enough for easy cleaning of even wisdom teeth. The travel case is an added bonus so you can take the brush on holiday without it being activated in your suitcase by mistake. The timer on it encourages lazy brushers to clean their teeth for the minimum recommended time of 2 minutes. The pressure sensor red light will warn if you press too hard while brushing, good for those who have been warned of tooth abrasion or gum recession by their dentist or hygienist. This is a fantastic buy, and I recommend all my patients to try these, (I'm a dental hygienist) they will really help keep your mouth clean and healthy when used for long enough and when positioned correctly on your teeth and gums. Love your smile and buy one!! (you still need to floss or use interdental brushes with it though!)

Poorer quality compared to original toothbrush bought about 8 years ago
Battery takes 24 hrs to charge, the flex is too short, I know from my previous one it starts to degrade after 15 months my previous one was a Chritmas present 2012' battery charge lasts 4-5 days red light does not come on, to tell to recharge. Toothbrush just stops mid clean, only using daily cleaning of 2mins.It is a very good toothbrush to clean teeth, the best I have found. My original one I bought many years ago much better, shorter charge time about 10-12 hrs and lasted 10 days, toothbrush lasted many years.

Braun Triumph 4000 Toothbrush
Bought this unit to replace an old pro care 9000 Braun toothbrush that was worn out. We never used the full range of cleaning options on the 9000 and wanted something a bit more simple (and cheaper), so opted for the 4000 unit. The brush performs well and in every respect works just as well as the unit it replaced, we do not miss the LCD display of the 9000, the charge indicator lights are more than sufficient although the flashing red pressure indicator light is a bit bright - if the brush just cut out it would be more than enough. The 30 second brief cut out for each quadrant of the mouth can be a nuisance and you do find yourself in a race to try and finish each sector in time with the light. Charging is ever so slow, from dead flat to full can take over 28 hours, if you can leave it plugged in live all the time guess it will not be a problem - if like us you do not have a shaver socket in the bathroom then you end up running the brush down before charging and it becomes a problem.

Great toothbrush with a long charge-time
The build quality is better than the 3000 (but on Amazon the price is cheaper than the 3000 at Tesco!). I don't think the added settings are actually that useful. We have two people using this at home and the novelty of the diamond and 'plus' settings is just that - a novelty. Bottom line, before work you won't try a new fangled vibration setting on your teethI do think electric toothbrushes are noticeably better than non-electric. The quality of cleaning is better and more efficientThis toothbrush has one annoyance which I should mention. The charging takes about 14 hours! Sure on a full charge it will go nearly a whole week's worth of use, but when you charge it, do not expect laptop or phone levels of charging. This is inductive charging (on a stand) and it takes a long time! So best leave it to charge overnight. Not a major issue as the charger will plug into the two pin 'shaver' plug in any bathroomPS - I have no comparison to the Philips as I have never used it but by all accounts its as good if not better making this a personal preference

Great for a couple of months
This is the third Braun/Oral-B toothbrush I've had, over the years; the others lasted a good lifespan and left me confident enough to spend, on this, one, the most I've ever invested in a toothbrush. I was delighted with it at first - cleaning second to none, and the range of heads available gives both excellent between-teeth cleaning and tones up the gums beautifully. So I was very happy indeed until two months in, when the brush began to stop, unpredictably, during normal use. Over the following month this became increasingly frequent and the motor labours and dies after brief use, even on a full charge. This after only 3 months. So the brush will have to go back, and I'll report back on the reception I get from Braun Customer Services, who I've never had to use before. On the face of it, this seems pretty disgraceful for a £79 toothbrush.UPDATE, Jan. 2015: the wonderful Amazon customer service people replaced this with no fuss ... but, almost a year to the day, the second one has developed the same fault.
