I've been dealing with a pretty bad case of IBS-D since the age of 10. I've tried so many things and nothing has ever worked 100%, but any relief I could get was a step in the right direction. Up until now the product that's worked the best for me was Digestive Advantage Probiotics-Intensive Bowel Support . It was like a miracle pill for years. It easily took away 70% or more of my IBS pain. But as the years have continued on, my IBS has worsened. It seems like every few years that go by, more and more things end up on the list of foods I can't eat. Now in my late 30's, I'm more often asked is there anything I can eat then what I can't. After a horrible bout with my IBS this summer where it seemed like even water would cause attacks, I went back to the drawing board. Pulled up Google and started digging around again. Going through forums and message boards everywhere trying to find something that might help me with my IBS. I was already totally off caffeine and sugars, drank nothing at all other than plain water (not carbonated). I was eating very little at this point because I was having a flair up that lasted weeks. I spent more time in pain than not. After researching online, I tried a number of things. This first being calcium supplements. I learned that some people make an excess amount of bile and they've found that taking a very specific calcium supplement (with little to no magnesium) can help with their symptoms. But it didn't really work for me. I tried Tummy Tamers, which were okay but didn't do a whole lot for me. Like a drop of water on a forest fire. Then I came across these tablets. Years ago I had no faith at all in homeopathic medicines. Then I discovered Boiron Oscillococcinum, a medicine to help with flu symptoms. Some say because it's homeopathic there's nothing in it to really help the flu, but I was desperate when my family was hit with the H1N1 flu years ago and after almost a month of misery and trying everything else, we tried those. They are amazing and the only thing that ever helped us (including the prescription of Tamiflu that did nothing but make us even more sick). So after that I learned not to shy away from the possibility that a homeopathic remedy may help with an ailment, and when I discovered these tablets I gave them a try. To start, for me they do work. They work their best when I don't push it. When I don't try and eat things I know my IBS won't let me have. They let me comfortably eat the kinds of foods I should normally be able to have, but can't because of an IBS attack. They let me enjoy going out to restaurants again and not feeling the start of an attack towards the end of the meal. When I go crazy and eat junk for days (greasy foods, candy, fats and dairy) and take these tablets to try and keep the pain at bay, they work but just for a few days. Then I'm hit with an bad IBS day. But when I eat normally with just small splurges here and there, my IBS is 100% better. I can go weeks or even months without stomach pain, something I haven't had in a long long time. It's to the point now where I'm not associating my every meal with eventual pain. Since taking these and getting control of the pain again, I don't take them every day. Instead I take them just for the occasional splurges, like eating out at restaurants. When dealing with IBS, one never knows what might be in something as simple as a sauce on your food at a restaurant that could trigger pain. Those are the times now that I take these tablets, and they work wonders. BUT I have found they work WAY better taking them before eating versus after eating. When I first started on these I would take them after eating and there were times that just starting to eat triggered IBS pain, so taking the tablet after that point was too late to be of maximum help. Taking them before a meal makes all the difference. Whatever triggers IBS pain isn't triggered for me when taking these before eating. No pain 15 minutes later or 15 hours later. Also note that these are supposed to be dissolved under the tongue. You don't swallow them whole. If you have IBS-D and are trying to get control of it, these may end up being as helpful for you as they were for me. Now I take them just to maintain, not as an every day need, and it's working awesome for me.

It is the medicine for IBS, time tested. Without any question one can go for this.

I have tried so many different OTC meds for IBS. I was given a prescription for Linzess, but my insurance didn't cover the cost because I hadn't met the deductible threshold. They work best for occasional IBS symptoms.
