Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM 23 inch IPS LED Monitor

My IT work requires I have a triple monitor setup. I use several applications simultaneously and simply cannot work on a single screen. I needed a set that wouldn't take up too much desk space (3 x 28" monitors would take up my wall!!), inexpensive, energy efficient and offer good colour reproduction for Photoshop work. Although I could have opted for higher res 1920x1200 24" screens, when working with 3 monitors the resolution of each screen becomes less important compared to the triple screen real estate I'll be getting. Plug 3 U2313HM screens into a top end AMD Radeon graphics card and I'm living in a nerds paradise!Build QualityI like the Dell brand and they consistently produce a good range of quality monitors. The styling of the U2313HM is typical Dell; it looks professional and unpretentious with its understated black bevel and squarish stand. The monitor is incredibly light, I was suprised how light it is compared to first generation LCD monitors from a decade ago. The monitor has the option to install a Dell sound bar, useful if you want the "built in" speaker look and want to do away to with speaker and cable hassle. The stand is fully adjustable and will go high enough for portrait view on the monitor. Dead easy to set up, clip the screen onto the stand, plug in the PC and you're good to go.InputsThe U2313HM offers the full range of DP, DVI and VGA inputs. There are 4 additional USB sockets.PerformanceThe screen has a slightly sparkly coating to it, might be distracting to some but I've got so used to it its not noticeable anymore. But at least its not a glossy screen a la iMac or Macbook, which are nightmares to use in lit environments. Colour reproduction is good and I'm pleased with the monitors ability to show up very light shades in photoshop, shades that are invisible on typical laptop screens. For gaming, I haven't observed any ghosting from earlier generations of LCD monitor. Gaming is a joy on this screen.They run cool and have a very low energy consumption, about 50W on normal usage. Menus are easy to use. 4 discreet smart buttons on the edge, press any one to make the menu pop up and the buttons will correspond to the options on the menus.ConclusionThis is a good quality budget screen. If I was getting a single monitor, I would probably opt for a larger higher resolution screen. But for my purposes, this is perfect.

UPDATE: Owned the monitor for just less than 1.5 years, and it has developed a fault. The image now has horizontal lines running through it and developed a strange tint towards the left side of the screen. The monitor never came with a Service number so I can't even check if it's under warranty. A monitor at this price level should not be break so easily.As an IPS monitor, it suffers from a back-light which leaves light bleeding in at the edges. This is especially noticeable when watching dark movies in a dark room.That aside, I reckon this is one of the best IPS monitors on the market. The picture quality is actually as the name suggestions is nice and sharp, and the colours are very vibrant when using it on the 'Standard' and 'Gaming' preset modes. The 'Movie' mode is ideal for watching movies, and the 'Text' mode is great when you are browsing the internet, so that your eyes aren't strained by the bright whites prevalent on most websites.I've used this monitor in all situations, from web browsing to programming to gaming. It's a monitor that is good at everything. I bought it primarily with gaming in mind, and at least as far as I've read the monitor has really good response times and little input lag. I couldn't possibly measure that myself, and I'm not sure if I would actually notice much difference, but I can say that gaming with this screen has been perfect, even in fast-paced shooters like Battlefield 4.Arguably, one of the greatest strengths of this monitor isn't the picture quality, but it's the stand it sits on. The stand is fully adjustable, you can swivel the screen around in all directions and you can also rotate it around to a portrait mode. You can also adjust the height the monitor sits at with much ease. This is a crucial feature but for some reason is forgotten on many monitors.I've never ever actually owned a monitor before for which you can adjust the height it sits on, meaning I've had to place books and boxes underneath the screen to place the monitor at a suitable height, or by adjusting the seat I sit on.Another plus point for its practicality is the two USB ports which sit on the side of the monitor. This is really convenient if you have lots of things plugged in, or for when you need to stick in a USB stick or charge a device without having to fiddle around with your computer case, which in some cases might be on the ground or under a desk.The monitor also has plenty of inputs - VGA, DVI and DisplayPort.This monitor comes very close to being a 5 star monitor, and perhaps it should be considering the reasonable price. I'm holding back simply because I believe there are superior monitors on the market (although probably more expensive).

Firstly the colour and sharpness of this monitor is very good but this is severly let down by the fact that Dell have started to ship out the ORIGINAL REV A00 models again which were notorious for having backlight bleeding and colour tinting issues.Why Dell decided to start shipping out the REV A00 again instead of the REV A06 I don't know. Maybe they had spares lying around or wanted to cut costs.Whatever the reason, if you get a REV A00 model monitor you are most likely going to have some form of backlight bleeding and colour tinting which is very noticeable when there are dark colours on the screen.There are numerous reviews online to back up the fact that the REV A00 models are inherently flawed so I would recommend staying well clear of them. If you can pick up the latest REV A06 models then go ahead as these are far better but Dell seem to have made this extremely difficult for the time being by only supplying REV A00 models.Overall a very good monitor with one of the best adjustable stands I have used but the issues with the REV A00 models really lets this monitor down.

yo compre 2 para edición de video sobre final cut, after effrects, retoque de color, etc. Muy solido y peana robusta, sus inclinaciones y cambios de altura son estables y suaves. Tiene salida usb que se conecta al ordenado por cable usb, de tal forma que en el lateral del monitor se activan 2usb que van geniales.deberás calibrarlo porque el calibrado de fábrica es malo.el envio y embalaje es perfecto, viene muy bien preparado para que no sufra el monitor. por este precio es el más recomendado.

Il monitor ha caratteristiche di tipo professionale sebbene costi pochi € in più rispetto ai comuni consumer.L'aspetto è pulito e gradevole, molto stabile sulla base e facilmente regolabile su tutti i piani dimensionali grazie ad un pivot molto ben progettato e realizzato. La presenza di un hub usb integrato (4 porte, 2 su un lato e 2 sul retro) è un plus che si rivela da subito estremamente funzionale e godibile a cui diviene difficile rinunciare dopo averlo provato...La messa in opera è semplicissima e rapidissima, senza necessità di alcun attrezzo. Nella confezione sono compresi un a cavo usb (2.0), un cavo DVI ed un cavo VGA.Una volta acceso il monitor è un vero godimento per la vista, con una resa cromatica fedelissima. Ho dovuto solo diminiuire ad un livello 30 la luminosità preimpostata .Non ho notato nessun effetto blacklight nè la presenza di "effetti scia".A mio modesto giudizio si tratta di un monitor eccellente sia da un punto di vita estetico che funzionale, con caratteristiche grafiche di tipo professionale. Assolutamente consigliato.

Monitor dall'ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, acquistato dopo lunga ricerca sul web dei prodotti concorrenti; il Dell ha vinto la competizione grazie e soprattutto al prezzo molto allettante unito al coro unanime di feedback positivi.Ottimo per un uso amatoriale in ambito fotografico, ma estremamente comodo anche nell'uso di programmi CAD e nell'ArchViz; che meraviglia lavorare su un monitor così grande e non più attraverso lo spioncino di un notebook! Dopo pochi settaggi e portata la luminosità a 10 gli occhi non si affaticano e finalmente posso finire la giornata lavorativa senza affaticare gli occhi.La qualità dei materiali si tocca subito con mano, trasmettono una immediata sensazione di solidità, robustezza e professionalità; molto comode le varie libertà di movimento ed il trattamento antiriflesso è utilissimo e non compromette la qualità dei colori.Andiamo al pelo nell'uovo... vengo da un notebook con monitor 16/10 e la larghezza non passa inosservata, ma solo nella navigazione web dove i contenuti delle pagine sono concentrate al centro lasciando molti spazi bianchi (con zoom al 110% ho circa 1/6 di vuoto a destra e a sinistra), ruotando il monitor tutto perfetto. Nell'uso dei software invece nessun problema, anzi!Non sono un gamer, quindi sul fronte videogame non sono in gradi di darvi una indicazione, sul web i commenti a volte si contraddicono, probabilmente il monitor è adatto per gamer occasionali che non hanno aspettative elevate.In conclusione e considerato il prezzo sono soddisfatto del mio acquisto!

Llevo 2 semanas con el monitor y estoy encantado con él. Tiene una calidad de imagen excelente, trae todos los cables necesarios para su funcionamiento (DVI - VGA - USB - Alimentación), la base es sólida y suficiente para el tamaño del monitor.El ajuste en altura es comodísimo, se acabaron las malas posturas por una altura incorrecta del monitor. Los puertos USB tanto del lateral izquierdo como de la parte baja del monitor son muy funcionales y además tienen alimentación "extra" por lo que en mi caso se han acabado los problemas por falta de potencia de los puertos USB.En definitiva, una muy buena compra.
