Reduced the RFI from my Internet connection
What is probably not realised by most is that all modern computerised equipment, their plugin psu's, and their connecting cables, all radiate unwanted RF energy, and that RF energy interferes with each of them to the point where everything is interfering with everything else and nothing is working to the level that it should be. So anything that can reduce that RF radiation is welcomed, even if it's as simple as using proper screened cables when available,As well as using PC's here I also have an interest in Amateur Radio and Short Wave Listening. Whilst standard Cat 5 cables, due to their twisted pair construction, do allow a very small degree of suppression of RF radiation into nearby domestic radio and TV sets, the fact is that the RF radiation levels are still plenty high enough to wipe out the reception of more sensitive semi-professional radio communications equipment, including modern dedicated Amateur Radio equipment. Changing from normal UTP Cat 5 interconnect cables here to STP Cat6 Shielded cables reduced the RF interference to my Amateur Radio equipment by at least 20db. Still there, but very much reduced. Not only that, but other devices here started to function more reliably, including my mobile and cordless phones, and Amateur Radio and Shortwave Listening reception now depends upon the interference from outside my home, not inside! All for the sake of 5M of SHIELDED cable!

Affordable, yet not reliable
Both cables which I ordered arrived through the post in great condition.I tried both of them out before deciding to put them through the wall. This doesn't matter to me (as I was removing the connectors anyway) but one of the cable's connectors was faulty. had I only been looking for a long cable to connect a device with, I would either have had to buy a crimper set, or return the cable for a new one.I only knew that is was the connector based on the information a NIC managing software provided; ortherwise I would have had to have bought a cable testing set (in order to rule out the condition that the wire itself was faulty), or replaced the cable.I also went through several connectors of my own (although not a big deal) in order to get the cable working again.Still a 4 star review considering the price of the product and taking chance into account, as these things do happen.

Well made Cat6 cable
I needed to get my house modem to connect to my workshop. I tried all different things but the only thing that really worked reliably is running a cable the old fashioned way. This Cat6 cable is screened so there is no problem with fluorescent light hum or mains interference.I made a rough measure and bought the one nearest to the length I wanted. This 30 meters was spot on. I never usually have luck like that, lol.I can now use a computer in the workshop, which saves a bunch of time trailing back and forth to the house. The cable is clear so the shielding can be seen inside. Also it feels heavy duty so I don't think there will be any problems with longevity. There is a small but noticeable degradation of signal strength over this distance, but it is still much better than other alternatives I have tried, like boosted wifi, etc.All in all, very pleased.

Excellent quality and value
I have to say this cable is really top quality and great value for money, I know that because I've looked inside! I've used it to connect a faceplate in my living room to another faceplate in my kitchen/office area. I decided to go for this cable rather than a reel of cable as it was cheaper to buy for this sort of length so I decided to go for it, knowing I was going to chop of the ends in order to connect the faceplates. The shielding is good, consisting of plastic and foil as you'd expect. There's a core separating the 4 twisted pairs and giving some structure to the cable (this is what makes Cat 6 cable harder to bend than Cat 5, generally the core is stronger). There's even a jacket tear line which I was surprised to see and also doubles to help with the shielding when connecting back up to cable connectors.All-in-all, very good. I would consider buying these again, even if I weren't going to be ripping them apart.

Works great, but never coming out
This cable works perfectly - it connects my computer to the internet via Ethernet - however, I dont think I will ever be able to actually remove the cable from my computer:As you may already know, Ethernet cables 'clip' into the socket, and the little plastic bar is to be pushed down to release to cable again. The problem with this cable is that there is a little protector? Piece of hard rubber in a dome shape over the end of the clip which I presume you are supposed to be able to push down and push the clip through. But you can't. The protector is pretty hard to compress and in my computer (due to positioning of Ethernet connector) is extremely awkward to access making it seem an impossible task to remove - hopefully I don't have to in the future! But, with the problem aside, the cable works as it was intended - to create an Ethernet connection between two devices.

Fine for HDMI over CAT6
Arrived quickly.I am using these to extend mu Virgin Tivo HDMI signal to a bedroom 20m from the Tivo box.The cables go outside the house, up and in to the loft, across the loft and down in to the bedroom. The signal at the other end is good.I am using the follwing:To split the original signal:"ClimaxDigital 1.3b 1080P 1 Input 2 Output (1x2) 2 Way HDMI Splitter with amplifier and **3D support** "bought from AmazonTo extend the HDMI signal through these cables:Max Value HDMI 480P (60m)/1080P (30m) Extender Over CAT5E/6 also through Amazon.I've not got 3D so I don't know if that is transmitted.I don't need to use the mains connection to the extender, which is good. All three items cost less than £50.
