Tight Fitting Shoes vs STAR Professional Shoehorn: Shoehorn Wins in a Landslide!
Hey, our fingers are hard workers! They can twist, tie, turn, tuck, tear, tap and touch. So why should we also jam them between the heel of our foot and the back of our shoe? The answer is that we obviously only wear shoes with velcro or that can slip on. But sometimes we need to look a little fancy. Maybe a special someone is back in town after a long business trip to Tokyo or you are about perform as a one man/woman orchestra in Carnegie Hall. You would need some pretty spiffy footwear for those scenarios and the best way to get those tight toe detention centers on your paws without overworking your digits is to use something like this STAR Professional Metal Shoe Horn. I haven't used too many in my day; just enough to count on one hand. This fella, the Heavy Duty Steel 7.5" version, works great. It's strong, durable and pushes the comfort level of putting on tight dress shoes towards that of a good back massage. If you are also adverse to extraneous bending you may want one of those super long ones with the bonus back scratcher. If not this will leave you quite satisfied. Just make sure the price is right. Then you can snatch one up for your home and/or workplace.

it is not TOO FLAT AND USELESS - did your pet elephant sit on the package ...
Owned a plastic shoe horn before. After a few months it degraded and basically dry rotted. Bought this metal shoe horn and haven't looked back at the grave of whom he replaced. I wear a lot of shoes to work and this has helped alot slipping them on with zero issues. I expect it to last for YEARS!To the people who gave this product low star reviews:No, it is NOT ENORMOUS - do you possess child sized hands? No, the edges are NOT ROUGH - did you happen to sharpen your shoe horn mistaking it for a machete? No, it is not TOO FLAT AND USELESS - did your pet elephant sit on the package when it was delivered before you opened it?I honestly believe some reviewers just aim to give a bad review to amend their ability to Troll. This is a great, well made, well sized shoe horn. The end.

Well made shoe horn.
This a very simple, well made shoe horn. The following comments don't represent the quality of the product, but it's something to keep in mind prior to purchasing.1) The shoe horn is actually very broad. It's something to keep in mind if you have shoes with narrower heels.2) Because this is a tiny shoe horn, take fully advantage of the hole, loop a string around it and hang it. If you throw it in a cupboard or drawer, it'll disappear in the back and be impossible to find.3) I recommend having a place to sit when using this shoe horn if you have difficulty bending. Or purchase a shoe horn with a long handle. That's all!

Has dangerously sharp edges that will damage your shoe.
This has a really sharp burr on the front and pack of this product all the way around its edge The sharp edge will prevent this from being used as a shoe horn because it will damage your shoe and possibly cut your sock.I used my grinder to deburr this, smoothed and polished this and it looks As though it will be a good shoe horn now. Issue is as many of these on the market at this cost, having to do this is ridiculous. Other note they used a really good quality stainless steel. So not everyone has the tools to round and smooth metal this hard. Kind of a shame, this has potential to be a good product. It is almost like the people making it had no idea what it was to be used for

Finally a "Heavy Duty" Shoe Horn That Is Exactly That!!
This thing is exactly what I wanted!! A simple, sturdy, metal shoe horn that I can use to get my work boots on. I don't know how many I bent or broke before I found this one. This thing is the perfect length to get down into my 6" Wolverine boots, but yet still have plenty of room left to grip the handle. It's also made of thick metal so it is strong enough to withstand the stress of my foot forcing down into the boot, but yet not too thick to impeded the foot getting into the boot. Might have to buy another one to throw in my truck.

Finding a Shoe Horn is not Easy.
It's amazing how hard it is to buy a shoe horn these days. For most of my life whenever a person bought a pair of shoes at the shoe story the seller either offered the buyer a free shoe horn or just automatically added one to the box containing the new shoes. Those days seem to be long gone. For years I've been buying very expensive SAS leather shoes and they won't even sell me a shoe horn when I buy two or three pair at a time. That's always annoyed me because three pairs of SAS shoes costs well over $1,000. Frustrated I called a few places I figured would have a good selection of various sizes of shoe horns. I remember when shoe horns came in all sizes and often had long handles so people didn't have to bend over too much to use the horn. My calling around didn't produce any results so I bought two of the STAR Professional Metal Heavy Duty Shoe Horn on Amazon. They work fine and will probably last me the rest of my life and then serve whoever ends up with them after I get little wings on my heels as well as my back.

CHECK WAL-MART BEFORE BUYING!!
PROS:#1: Sturdy shiny steel construction. #2: Impossible to bend or break during normal use.CONS: Florida Wal-Marts sell an equivalent, better shaped Shoe Horn for $3.00 !!Wal-Mart also sells a shoe horn with a long metal handle for $7.00!! Large end is not curved in the shape of a normal heel - large end is actually V-Shape. The shape of plastic Thom McAn shoe horns given away free at some K-Marts is better. #2: The small end is appropriately curved, but has a 3/8" hole in the middle. Hole for hanging it should be smaller.CONCLUSION: Look for a sturdy shoe horn whose radius more closely matches the curvature of your heel.
