JOHN BAUER TAROT IS MAGIC!
when i pre-ordered this deck my bf was all whatever but as soon as he went thru them he immediately fell in love & now wants his own deck. while i had a fairy tale book with bauer's art as a kid my bf did not yet he said the images took him back to his childhood fairy tales & nursery rhymes & they do! this is such a magical deck that makes you feel the images & will be a great deck to read intuitively with. some people are leaving negative comments about the card stock & while it is on the thin side they seem very sturdy & well made. if you feel attracted to the images please be assured the deck will hold up, unless you are abusive to cards in which case maybe plastic cards would be better for you.

I love this deck!
I really love this deck. I was quite surprised how well they were able to match up the illustrations to the meaning of the cards, which makes them easy to remember and/or learn with. They have a unique description for each card but still relates to the Rider-Waite tarot. The card stock is a little on the thin side but I don't mind it. They are a good size for my hands and they shuffle nice. I also love the design on the back. Overall a beautiful deck that I would recommend to anyone. Great job!

Very different, but very beautiful
You’re going to either love or hate this deck. The artwork is stunning, but does not match up to traditional decks. That being said, many of the cards have artwork that seems unrelated, but it makes perfect sense if you know the folk tale behind it. I recommend becoming well versed in Scandinavian folklore if you want to get the full story from these cards... The small book attached doesn’t do justice for the meanings.Overall I’m in love with them. They’re beautiful. I also like that the shape and card stock they used. Very easy to work with. Definitely my favorite deck I own!

Be flexible
When I first received this deck, I was thrown off by how the images just didn't match up to what I worked have expected for the card meanings. Gorgeous deck, but I couldn't deal with seeing, for example, two people fleeing on horseback on the Four of Wands, or the Star and Moon cards looking nearly identical. So I trimmed the borders off and treat it as an oracle deck. Resolved the card meaning issues AND interestingly, the card stock quality issue. Taking about an inch of length away actually suits the thinner cardstock. All in all, I'm happy with my new deck.

My all-time favorite tarot deck!
I collect tarot decks because of the artwork or because of their rarity. This deck spoke to me when I saw them on Amazon and purchased them for my collection. It has become my go-to deck. The imagery is amazing and I feel like I can really connect to it. The book is short and to the point. I keep hoping they will write a more in-depth supplement, but I'm honestly not complaining. I will keep this deck close to my heart for a very long time.

Amazing art
This is my favorite go to deck. The pictures in it move me in a way I can't put my finger on.

Better cardstock would give this a higher rating.
The images are nice. I vacillated back and forth as to whether or not to trust Llewelyn after a couple of decks that were quite deplorable on where the cardstock is concerned. But someone else did some research and found they were actually published by Lo Scarebo and only distributed by Llewelyn. So, ok, I’ll give it a shot. The cardstock is on the thinner side, but they shuffle similar to the Everyday Witch. That cardstock is also thin, but they don’t feel like they’re going to disintegrate and neither do these. I do wish these publishers would use a higher quality of cardstock. That said, I think this will be ok. As far as the images go... I’m still exploring, but at least I won’t be afraid to shuffle.

Beautiful cards
The art on these is spectacular. The little white book is okay. It mostly describes what is depicted on the cards with a little bit of interpretation. John Bauer illustrated a lot of Swedish Fairy Tales so if you want to understand the imagery in more depth pick up "Great Swedish Fairy Tales" which combines his art with the stories he originally illustrated them for. Not every image in the deck is in the book, but it's a good place to start if you want to dig a little deeper and get other dimensions of insight.
