Taylor Service Complete Pool Water Test Kit K-2006C

It took a minute to understand what I was doing but it's nothing too complicated. This provided accurate Cyanuric Acid readings that my test strips failed at and got my alkalinity readings much closer. It's a good product.

This Taylor test kit is very thorough and provides accurate, consistent results. The instructions are clear, and the included reagents cover all major water chemistry needs. We bought a house w an inground huge fiberglass pool last year and we’re new to pool ownership. I had been using test strips and hated that I really didn’t know what the pool chemistry numbers were since the strips only show a color and an approximation. Last summer I would battle w cloudy water off and on and even saw an erratic brownish- tan stain forming on the floor of my otherwise pristine white fiberglass pool. But my test strips always confirmed my pools chemistry were in the ideal color ranges. After much reading online and trying everything recommended to identify and remove the stain last year, but to no avail, I was determined to try again this pool season and hoped there wasn’t any permanent staining from it lasting a year. So I bought this test kit. Read the included booklet cover to cover. That booklet was the most informative pool chemistry info I had seen. I read countless blogs, forums, and pool sites and that little 60 pg booklet taught me more than anything else. It has the appropriate amount of detail on how to balance the chemistry and each section breaks down some specific details that are necessary for every single pool owner to understand. For example, the section on PH let me know that for a fiberglass pool I need to maintain 7.6 not a range of 7.2 - 7.8 but a strict adherence to 7.6 and that maintaining my pools PH was the first and most fundamental action I need to take. The booklet stated that outside of 7.6 the pool can get stains. Aha, I thought! Finally I was getting closer to getting the stain out. The booklet even confirmed that my stain was due to iron. I ordered Jacks blue and bought a culator for the pumps skimmer basket and the stain was gone by slowly disappearing over the course of two weeks. I was doing the passive approach since we have a heater and a more aggressive stain removal process is not recommended. All this pool season my pool has been crystal clear without the need for a bunch of chemicals or adding clarifier. It is because I test PH and chlorine 2 x a week and others as recommended by the book, like some are once a month or once every two months. I thought my pool was in balance w the test strips misguided color coding but really my pool was out of whack which was why the iron staining occurred in the first place. The test kit has reagents that help you to know just how much of a chemical you need to add to achieve balance. For instance, if you’re testing PH and it’s low it has an included reagent that you drop in the tube and count the drops needed to change color. Then use the booklet PH page chart and line up drops needed with your pool size to get an accurate dosing to bring pool back in balance. No more guessing. No trial and error. It tells you what to measure, what to adjust first, how long to wait between adjustments, etc. Buy this kit. Read the book. Buy some plastic syringes to get pool water easily and quickly and to accurately measure to the line on the tubes in the kit. I bought syringes, a 10 pack thru Amazon for like $5 at the same time I bought this kit. I washed everything before use and after use with hot water. I perform my tests at the laundry room sink counter so I can fill the tubes w syringes of pool water and wash out in between each test at the sink. It’s easy. It’s accurate. This kit says it’s for pros but really all pool owners need to be a pro at balancing pool chemistry

I purchased this test kit to use in my pool care business. It is probably a bit more than a pool owner would want to pay...and for you folks I would most highly recommend the smaller version of this test kit, the Taylor K-2006 (without the "C" after it). This one is much larger and heavier, but a pool care guy uses a lot more of the reagents every week, and the replacement bottles just drop right in so the labels never get old on my bottles. My old K-2006 kit had lost its lid, and all the small bottles had lost their labels, so this spiffy new kit is just what the doctor ordered. The only thing missing that I needed was the Taylor Salt Test kit, so I ordered that a la carte, and the new K-2006C kit has enough spare room inside it for the salt test kit and some extra Cyanuric Acid reagent bottles...a nice discovery! If you get this kit, take care to push hard on the two clips that close the lid...it takes firm pressure, and if you don't get them closed all the way, you will dump out the contents of the kit! But once you push them firmly, the kit is really closed and won't accidentally open. Taylor has also introduced a new "gift" in the kit, an "eyedropper" bulb type pipette for measuring the R-0010 reagent in the Calcium Hardness test. This speeds up the work...another nice touch. And the seller/shipper, Amato Industries, provided fast service and shipping at a fair price! I haven't found a better place to purchase this kit or the K-2006! Aloha! Sparkling Clear Maui Pools

I have never owned a pool before or tested one in my life and in one week of daily testing I have this stuff down and my pool is perfectly balanced to the T. Using this Taylor Service Complete Pool Water Test Kit K-2006C I have full control over testing and this 2006C kits gives me enough chemicals for year round testing since I live in Southern Florida. I would not recommend buying the Taylor Service Complete Pool Water Test Kit K-2006C if you live in a northern state as you will waste money because you will have to throw your chemicals away and buy new ones the following year as the bottles are 2 oz each. I would recommend the smaller kit with smaller bottles if you only have your pool open for 3 to 5 months. When I bought this home a few weeks ago the previous owner said his pool guys were great and I must say the pool was sparkling clear. But after doing some testing I found out the pool guys sucked and were not doing their job at all. I had to drain 1/3 of the in-ground pool to lower calcium levels, the PH was through the roof and there was way to much salt in the pool. My aqau nano salt water generator was reading 3200 PPM salt in the pool and when I performed a test using the Taylor Chloride Salt Kit the salt measured 2800 PPM so I re calibrated my Nano settings to reflect this new reading this kit gave me. 400 PPM difference is pretty huge. Now I know I have this pool to near perfect and it is now time to tackle the Hot Tub sitting next to it and get that water perfectly balanced. Thanks Taylor! The instructions are pretty good under the cover of the K-2006C kit but I found that watching some Taylor videos on testing on their website and other videos on youtube helped me out a great deal. Videos speak louder than a little booklet.

We used to have a pool guy come once a week. I don't think he ever tested the water, and for sure the pH wasn't right because our eyes were always red. With the help of this kit, that's no longer a problem and our water is crystal clear. This kit does everything I need and want it to do, and overall I am quite happy with it. The basic instructions are printed right on the inside of the cover, which is great. I also like the pamphlet that gives you more information (if you want it) about pool chemistry and maintenance, and I appreciate the dial/manual calculator to assist in balancing the water. (I won't bore you here with what that means, but if you are really interested, you can read about it in the pamphlet!) I only have one complaint. Some of the stuff that may be in your water (high chlorine, sanitizer, or metals) can disrupt the testing. (For example, I was trying to go from green to red, and the water only turned yellow.) If you don't know this, it will drive you nuts. (Why? Why won't you turn red? Why?) I wish that when you opened the kit for the first time, there was some way they told you about these potential difficulties.

Excellent test kit. For the longest time I had been going to the pool store for testing once a month or two and using test strips in between. Now, my pool store is great and fair, but if you are not buying they charge for the test (as they should, right?), but I discovered that the test strips would lead me astray since they are not very accurate and do not have a narrow range, so that my chemical levels would bounce around and I would always be correcting something that seemed a little off. So this year I rehabbed the pool, and in learning about pools I saw the troublefreepool website and the recommendations for test kits. I bought this one and the pool has never been better and I spend far less on chemicals, the right chemicals. I keep track of the history and where I need to be with pool chemistry. It does not take long to perform the tests and the tests are meaningful and accurate. This has been a great purchase for the pool.

This is difficult to use. Expensive. My kit came with an inoperable missing test solution and it's not returnable. The companies first response is we inspected it and it was all there when we shipped it. So, kiss my ass. I'm invested in this crap now. But if i were you i would just stick to the test strips or look at something nicer like digital. This sucks.
