Macallan Edition 2 Whisky 70 cl

Received a replacement bottle with no problems after Royal mail had lost the original. All ok.

Fantastic take on modern Macallan and very rare to see one at 48%. Lots of berry fruits, bottle develops well. Five stars for price range, four stars vs more premium offerings.

If you buying this for drinking, try Macallan 12 instead. If you buying as collector don't open it. It is rather disappointing. I have been trying this whisky time to time and have at least 8 drams it is over priced and horrible. Honestly.

At the moment the delivery estimate says 2-4 weeks but after 2 months of waiting I cancelled my order. I'm glad I did because I've subsequently tasted a sample and the Macallan Ed.2 is a poor effort from the Speyside giant. Being 48% doesn't do it any favours either. As a Macallan fan for several decades, this is the weakest effort I've tasted by far. As another reviewer said you're better off spending your money on the Macallan 12yo 'Sherry Oak' but even the Gold or Amber would be better!

Habe den Whisky auf Anraten eines Freundes gekauft und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Einer der wenigen aktuelleren Macallans, die meine Erwartungen an diese "Kultdistillerie" erfüllt haben.

これは、脱帽です。 私が手に届く価格帯で、マッカラン・シェリー樽のピークは、なんとはなしに、旧ボトルの 18年もので、もう入手できない、などと思っていました。そこに、突然の伏兵が現れました。 本商品は、マッカランの上級品に固有の芳醇な味わいがあるのみならず、香りの透明性が非常に高く洗練されており、雑味のない引き締まった味わいが際立っています。 近頃のマッカランは割り高かで、今はもっとお得な醸造所もあるよね、などと昔を懐かしんでいた方に、絶対のお勧めです。 （といより、本当のところは、そっと心に留めておいて、誰にも勧めたくありません。）
