Excellent machine for this pricepoint
Excellent machine for this pricepoint. I use at level 11 or 12 and it gives a great workout in short time on work breaks. Very quiet, very simple to use and setup. As for the foot pads, they're big enough so you can adjust your footing how you like but basically flat-ground stepping, so should be as natural as walking. The larger machine has heavier flywheel so momentum would be a bit better but this size with 16 1/2 inch stride is better than the majority of machine offerings. Would recommend.

Good, smooth, and quiet device for a simple home workout device
Good for a basic home gym equipment. Pros: Quiet, smooth, and larger stride length than most. Being 6'2" that was something I was looking for. Doesn't take a ton of room and for the price range a great piece of equipment. Con: Very heavy. Getting it up the stairs was a challenge. Installation was a challenge. Instructions weren't a perfect translation so a little unclear at a couple points. Some screws & bolts were already pre-installed and not stored with the pack containing the Allen wrenches or other screws. Also, I would not recommend installing in the same order the Instructions stated. I would start with the front & back floor cross-pieces rather than the main post that holds the panel display. Just makes it an easier process.

Good cardio machine
Good elliptical. Will be using it for years to come. Only thing I don’t like is that it kept on shifting during intense sessions, so had to place a carpet underneath to keep it from moving.

Clicking Noises :(
I purchased this elliptical and my husband set it up according to the instructions..I was really excited to use it and then it started making a clicking sound. At first, I was going to ignore it after troubleshooting and move on with my life. It was a cheap elliptical after all. But the sound has gotten progressively worse after only a couple of workouts, so even if I can make an adjustment to quiet it, I will be adjusting it every few days. Additionally, the price dropped 100$ a few weeks after I purchased it, and Amazon won't offer me a price adjustment unless I send it back in the mail. I spent 40 minutes on hold, that I could have been working out, to try to troubleshoot both issues. :( It's so disappointing. I'm going to contact the customer service of the manufacturer and then if they don't help me to fix it (without un-assembling and shipping back the entire elliptical, which I can barely lift!!!!) I guess I will return it. I will edit my review if anything changes Update: I am updating my review from 1 star. I contacted both Merarch and Amazon. Amazon was relatively useless, though after 45 minutes again on the phone with customer service I eventually did get into contact with a wonderful customer service representative who was quite charming and friendly. She couldn't really do anything, though, and referred me to the manufacturer. It was a little difficult to start a ticket process because some of their website is funny to navigate, but they did respond to a ticket within a week asking for a video of the problem. I sent the video and they told me to tighten the flywheel pulley. My husband is usually very good at fixing things, but I am pregnant and we have fallen behind and the elliptical works, it just makes a noise, so it became a lower priority than some other household issues we needed to address. They also refunded me a little bit, but not the entire amount for the lowest price that had been offered. I forgot I had written this review and a week ago, I received another email from the company who offered an exchange on the product (without needing to ship it back), a different product, or a refund. I actually really like the product, and didn't want to throw the elliptical that was basically working away, and the CSR told me how to fix it...I just never got around to making the adjustment or lubricating that particular part. Instead, I asked for the original partial refund to bring it down to the sale price. The new CSR from Merach issued an additional partial refund through Amazon. While the elliptical is sort of cheaply made, (and a low cost...but I think you get more than you pay for, actually, if it is on sale.) I really appreciate that the manufactorer replied each time within 48 hours and tried to make things right. I will certainly not hesitate to purchase from this manufacturer again. (Though, honestly, Amazon needs to step up their game a little with returns/refunds of large items.) Thank you, Merarch. Now for the actual elliptical itself: it has 16 speeds of resistance and a long stride length (I am 5'4 and my husband is 5'7 but it would probably be fine for a little taller, as well.), but keeps a fairly low profile. Aside from the clicking, the movement is incredibly smooth. Smoother, I daresay, than the one I ride at my gym. It does have a forward tilt on the foot pedals, which can sort of hurt my toes, but only if I run for 90 minutes or more. This machine is to help me have a fit pregnancy without a lot of impact, so I wouldn't really be using it more than an hour at a time anyway. It has an adjustment knob for 16 levels of resistance which is high enough to be effective for a good workout for myself and my husband, who, when NOT pregnant, are avid distance mountain bikers and outdoors people. There is a shelf for your tablet or phone and a water bottle holder. I really appreciate that there are NO CORDS and it is self powered, so I can move it anywhere. Assembly took my husband about half an hour, but we joke and say that we aren't really sure if people on Amazon read directions very well because normally he assembles things very quickly. It came with a small amount of the correct kind of lubricant and some instructions for how to set it up and use it. If I could improve one thing about the design, it would be to flatten the foot pedals and to increase the battery memory on the machine to 5 minutes or so, so that you could step off and use the restroom or get a drink without losing your workout progress. I ordered a small battery clip-on fan, as well, to provide a little air flow. The machine is attractive and looks nice in my house. It certainly isn't as heavy duty as a gym machine, but the size makes it maneuverable and it doesn't take up any more room than a smaller recliner in a corner. I think if I maintain it (and tighten the loose bolt) it will last a long time, though I only use it as supplemental activity when I can't go outside to exercise or make it to the gym. .

The step length is long
I wasn't sure which length of step I needed so I went with this on because it's a bit longer than most of the others, and I was worried one of the other ones would be to short. As it turns out, I probably should have gotten one of the smaller ones. I'm 5.8" and it's a little to big of step length for me and the angle of the foot rests are a little to steep. The machine itself is very quite and is very solid. It works fantastic. Even at moderate speed the machine doesn't really rock of feel unstable in any way. It was a little time consuming to put together, but not hard. The directions were clear and easy to follow.

Once assembled it is perfect.
Unboxing it was a chore. The box didn’t indicate which end should be up when opening. The manual did, but it was inside the box. Of course, I did open it upside down. It was not really a problem once I tore all the cardboard apart and managed to get the styrofoam out of it, The Amazon description said it would be assembled in 20 minutes. That would be impossible even for the engineer who designed the machine. HOWEVER, I am quite handy at such things and managed to get it together and operable in just a few hours. Now it is operable and I do love it. So quiet. It is perfect once assembled.

Do NOT Buy
I WANTED to like this elliptical so bad. I had another one of their smart ellipticals and liked using it, but they no longer sell that model. The ease of assembly was okay enough, but needed three people in order to get it up the stairs. My main issues are 1.) It is missing a connection wire to the display (two wires instead of three) so it is unable to monitor BPM, kind of rendering the inner handlebars useless, 2.) it is SO NOISY! Despite making sure all the screws are correctly installed, lubrication is done, etc., after my first use of it, it immediately started making creaking, groaning, and squeaking noises. It does not matter if it is on a mat or not. It’s impossible to use without having headphones in playing loudly to hide the noise. It’s awful., and 3.) the construction of the legs is poor and is more concern for potential injury. The pedals are not attached and anchored, so if you go fast enough, they can bounce which is a major safety issue. Additionally the pedals lean forward, which causes strain and discomfort not long into use. On their previous model, I could go 2 hours without issue. On this one, at around 30 minutes, my toes and front of foot already notice discomfort, and it is sometimes painful to continue past an hour. There needs to be some major redesigns done here. The video I took is when I started to notice the creaking happening about ten minutes into my second time using the machine. I would return it if it wasn’t a heavy, massive piece of equipment. Not sure how I could even dissemble to make it even possible to do so.
