Redrex Assembled MK8 Extruder Hotend for MakerBot Prusa i3 Reprap 3D Printer

I have a Monoprice IIIp and the head isn't standard as far as replaceable parts. It jammed up pretty bad so I took a chance on this replacement. Other than a tiny amount of filing one of the mounting holes, it all fit perfectly. All of the cables just plugged into the same ones that were there except for the power to the heat unit, that was a simple solder job and some heat shrink. About a 2 hour job to switch it all out. Now I can use replaceable shafts if it gets jammed.

Don’t be fooled by the description. I bought this thinking I could drop in to a maker or replicator 2 which is not the case. Every aspect of this unit does not work for a makerbot. The heater is 12V vs 24V, it has a 100K thermistor vs type K thermocouple and dimensionally there is no way to mount it. I think the steppermotor will work. That’s about it.

After a year of using my Anycubic 4Max, I had burned up the stock MK8 head that came with it. I decided to roll the dice on an affordable replacement and this one works. After 20 minutes of splicing, soldering and heat shrinking the wires I was back to better than before.

Colors are not wired for Robo 3D but using a pin you can easily move the colors to the position needed. I was up and printing in a matter of 30 minutes.

I bought it to build my own prusa style 3d printer ,everything I need is included,it takes some time to install into X-carriage ,but it works very well for a couple days.If you guys want to replace it with A8, a hacksaw will be used to cut off the little lever for the thumb block frame.It worths the bucks and quality is impressive,thanks..

The stepper motor turns a step and then back again, as if it was jammed. I was able to move it freely, with my hand.It uses both US and Metric, and both philips and hex.The only pro I have is the construction seems solid.

Good product fit perfect for my 3-D printer the only thing I suggest is for you to make sure it to reverse the wiring so they can match your original wiring set up so you don't have no reverse polarity

If you have a CTC prusa i3 DO NOT buy this item. Having connected it up I was met with errors and disappointment. After reinstalling my original extruder and hot end I've found it has also bricked the hot end connector and thermistor connector on the PCB board. It is fortunate there are spares else my whole 3d printer would be of no use.

Wanted a simple direct drive extruder - you can't get much simpler than this. Designed a mount before fitting this. Calibrated E-Steps, Calibrated flow and it prints like a champ! If setting up Marlin, it uses thermistor 1.

Ich habe den Extruder für meinen zweiten 3D Drucker (Geeetech i3 w) bestellt.Was mir auf den Ersten Blick besonders gut gefallen hat entgegen zu anderen Bestellungen die ich erhalten habe, war die Gute Verpackung.Der Extruder war in einem zweiten Karton eingelassen der durch eine Art "Schaumstoff" vor Schlägen geschützt ist.Dementsprechend kam das Teil auch ganz und heile an.Es wurden schon Verbesserungen von Werk aus am MK8 durchgeführt.Die Billige Plastikführung wurde hier durch eine Goldfarbende Führung aus Aluminium ausgetauscht wie wesentlich mehr Aushält und das Filament besser führen kann.Die Kabellängen sind Vollkommen ausreichend (1,1m) wenn mich nichts täuscht.Bei dem Motor handelt es sich um einen Klassichen 1.8 Motor der seinen Dienst wie erwartet erfüllt.Für jeden Anfänger sowie Bastler ein Ideales EinsteigergerätWürde ich in diesem Format erneut erwerben

Ich hatte das Ding vor einiger Zeit als Ersatzteil gekauft und es kam auch gut verpackt und fertig montiert bei mir an.Druckqualität war ok.. Nicht super aber auch nicht Schlechter als vorher.Auch der Einbau in mein System war kein Problem. Soweit so gut...ABER!!! leider hat sich nach etwa einer Woche im Betrieb die kleine Schraube, die den Temperatursensor befestigt gelöst, was zu einem unkontrollierten Aufheizen des Druckkopf führte... Wäre ich nicht dabei gewesen, wäre ich jetzt Obdachlos...Zum Glück konnte ich den Drucker rechtzeitig abstellen, bevor schlimmeres passsierte, aber der Druckkopf ist wohl hin...Sicher kann man jetzt sagen ich hätte eben alles nachprüfen/nachziehen müssen. Und genau das habe ich auch getan beim Einbau, die Schraube saß fest!!Deshalb könnte man auch sagen:Warum ist so ein wichtiger Sensor, bzw eine so wichtige Schraube nicht fachgerecht gesichert worden bei der Erstmontage durch den Hersteller?Ich würde allen Kunden dringend Raten selbst für entsprechende Sicherung zu sorgen und den Drucker mit diesem Hotend auf keinen Fall aus den Augen zu lassen! Wir sprechen hier von einem Zeitraum von etwa 1-2 Minuten die entscheiden ob das Ding abfackelt oder nicht!
