For years, I've used the Gillette Fusion5 razor systems. But was increasingly frustrated that I could only get 3 days of a smooth shave. After that, the drag, irritation and need to re-shave areas was very uncomfortable. To insult - the best price I could find for refill blades was around $3.50 - $4.25 per razor head refill. Out of frustration, I picked up the Schick Hydro5 razor and was amazed. Not only was I getting 6 - 10 days of comfortable and close shaves, with no irritation or pull, but the refills cost around $2.35 per razor head. That equates to around $0.25 per shave compared to around $1.17 per shave with the Gillette Fusion5. The only thing that holds me back from giving the Hydro5 a five-star rating, is that it does not have a trimming/sideburn blade like the Gillette razors have on the backside of the razor head.
