Saxby Square 40W Chrome Plated & Matt Opal Duplex Glass IP44 Bathroom Wall Light

The Saxby bathroom light was exactly what I was looking for. In terms of the light it looks really good, however what let it down is the quality of the pull cord. Both myself and the electrician thought it looked flimsy, very thin and elastic. Anyway after a few weeks it broke following very normal use, in fact we were extra careful not to pull too hard on the cord because of the standard. I then had to find a shop that would sell a thicker cord which I bought for 19p! Why a company would try to save on a key part of their product for a few pence makes no sense to me. I would have happily paid a couple of quid extra for the light with a good pull cord. I would still recommend the light but I would just replace the cord before the light is fitted to the wall as it was a little awkward to change, unless the company does something about it and then you won't have to.

Looks great, was easy to fix and gives a good light in the room when used without the main light

Looks beautiful but the pull string is so thin and weak, that the metal tip broke off within a week, when someone who didn't know to pull it Extremely Carefully must have pulled it normally. Now there is just a bit of string hanging down which doesn't look or feel good. It feels so fragile it will surely soon break off completely. I can't imagine why Saxby designed such a ridiculous pull string for such a nice light. I am very dissatisfied.
