Do Not Buy. Old knives being refurbished and sold as new.
Bought this Kasumi knife in August from ( Amazon EU S.a.r.L. ). Do not buy from this seller, as its a large warehouse that sells items from multiple sellers, and they do not trace their sellers items or quality check them. Meaning a genuine sellers stock will be mixed in with the stock of a scam seller at the warehouse, and what arrives from this seller is pure luck or misfortune. On arrival, was already slightly skeptical as the Kasumi knife packaging looked old and slightly damaged, but didn't think too much of it. On opening, I noticed slight blemishes and and some small specks of paint missing from the brand lettering on the blade. Again, did not think too much of it as the production of these knives isn't always flawless. But, Lo and behold, a month in, the knife blade got a "Ha gire" crack which is not repairable (as shown in the picture). I waited a month to book a slot with a local knife sharpener for him to explain to me that this is an old knife, that has been refurbished and sold on as new. This type of crack would have been sustained after years of serious use and not the occasional use within a domestic kitchen environment after a month. Do not repeat my mistake, do not buy these knives on Amazon.

Lovely light knife
A beautifully made knife. The handle is round and nice to the touch, the blade is thin enough so it feels comfortable and light to use. The blade is razor sharp, the sharpest I have ever seen, but if you have a knife like this you will needs a good sharpener, I use a Kasumi combi stone which is pricey, but makes a beautiful edge. The Damascus layers look good and are as mentioned by Kasumi, much like clouds. The blade reflects the light nicely.I am very pleased with it and would recommended. Might be worth looking for the utility knife combo, which created a good saving for me as it was much cheaper than buying separately.
