I've seen it used to help people prone to head injuries, like with seizures / epilepsy. It's like a firm piece of plastic wrapped with padding and soft material. It's a lot less obtrusive and cooler than a full padded helmet.

Fits my daughters head perfectly and looks like a regular headband. She loves it!

This headband may or may not be effective in preventing concussions but it definitely has a chemical smell to it that has thus far prevented me from using.

Great for soccer! Looks good on my 10 & 12 year old. They don't mind wearing it. No problem with headers. Adjusts nicely. Washed well on delicate cycle.

We used them to cushion our heads while riding coasters. They wanted to slip off at times with the G-forces, but all in all they helped us not receive a head banging on our favorite ride.

My 12 year old dtr actually enjoys wearing this and said it doesn’t hurt when she heads a soccer ball

The "rough" part of the Velcro was too exposed to my head. I had to modify (cover) most of it.
