Wow! A good and versatile DMR / FM Tranceiver at a great price.
The RADTEL RT-4D is as described/specified. This radio is a nice size, and unlike many other radios, actually transmits at 5 watts. It has good battery life - at high power, I can work all my local DMR and FM repeaters. At low power, I can work my MMDVM hotspots for the entire day. Although you may think the storage for contact/talkgroups, channels, and zones is limited, let's face it - you program your radio full of data and only use 5 zones most of the time anyway. The price is great and, like all DMR radios, the CPS UI is a terrible experience. I give it 5 stars for the hardware, great audio, excellent DMR codec, and great signal reports. Yes, you can use the low bands but it's not really an HF transceiver, so don't expect anything much. It performs as well as my other DMR handhelds at a much, much, lower price point..

Wicked for the price!
If you’re looking for a cheap DMR capable radio under $100, this is the one. Build is good and supports AES256. Programming is similar to most DMR radios, nothing special. Audio quality on both sides seems comparable to Anytone. Features are lacking but if voice is all you need, it’s great.

Does not receive DMR signals.
If you're looking for a "knock-around" DMR radio for when you're out and about. Skip this one. According to the specs and other reviews, it seems like a lot of radio for a very small price. Unfortunately, my unit was unable to receive any digital signal at all. It would transmit perfectly fine, and the transmitted audio sounded great, but I bought a 2-way radio. Not a 1-way.

A good basic DMR radio by a Chinese radio company with many models people like
Radtel is another import company that makes radios that are an excellent value for the money. They have a ton of models. I encourage buyers to watch reviews of the different Radtel radios. The features vary model-by-model, with some requiring slightly different antennas for different listening, such as shortwave or aircraft.

Radtel RT-4D DMR Radio 1024 Channels Walkie Talkie, Dual Band Dual Mode Analog/Digital
If you know enough about DMR, you know you need to understand code plugs to program it. In this radio, the manual is next to useless. As with pretty much every Chinese radio, you should consider getting a genuine name brand antenna to replace the one that comes with the radio. Make sure you get a real one and not a counterfeit antenna. As for the radio, itself, I really like it. This is a basic, minimalist DMR radio that works with both digital and analog transmissions. One of my favorite things about this one is that while it is a DMR radio, I was able to program analog repeaters in it even before reading the instructions. They program in the same way as Baofeng and other analog radios. In other DMR radios I have, I have to create a code plug even for the analog channels.I get good audio reports on the air, and the DMR sounds about the same as with my other DMR radios.I like the look and feel of the radio. It is comfortable to hold and feels like a rather tough plastic case. The sound is good and I get good reports on my sound quality. The radio is smaller and lighter than my other DMR radios. It has a USB-C charger built in the radio, but to program it, you need to use the standard Baofeng type charger cable that uses the K-1 mic connector. It also comes with a base charger so you can drop it in and charge it at home, but with the USB-C, you can charge it in the car or when you are away from AC power. This radio receives a little better than the Baofeng, but not quite as well as my favorite DMR radio, even when I use the same antenna. but, at 1/5th the price, I'd say it has a good receiver for the money. One of the features I like about the radio is that I can personalize the boot screen with my call-sign flag. It is not color, but it is nice to see it.Radtel is making a good name for themselves and is becoming popular and more trusted for it's quality. This might become my favorite knock-about radio for my go-kit and field operations. It seems to be tough enough to handle the abuse and weather conditions I expect to encounter.

Crap documentation
It does what it says on the tin, but good luck figuring out how to use it unless you've programmed a lot of different DMR radios. One thing it does seem to allow is per channel radio ID setting. Anytone could take note.
