Fiskars 12-66007097 ScrapBoss Starter Set

I love making my own greeting cards!! This adds a new dimension to my creations and it's fun and easy to use. There is storage on the inside for full scrapbook sized sheets of paper as well as more stencil sets and the embossing tools and pegs. The only drawback to this, for me, is the size. It's really designed for scrap bookers so it's quite large, about 16 inches square, so I wish I had gotten a smaller version for myself. If you don't scrapbook and mainly work on smaller items then you might want to get one of Fiskars smaller versions of this. Either way, they're all pretty much the same. Easy to use, with excellent results (keep a scrap from a white candle handy and rub the tip of your embossing tool on it, it really helps the tool glide across the paper) I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys papercrafts all all sorts.

I had the mini version and really enjoyed it, so when I saw some ScrapBoss templates on clearance, I bought them, and then ordered this starter set. If you use paper that isn't too heavy or light, rub it with a piece of wax paper to lubricate it, you can have lots of fun creating endless designs with this tool. I find it very relaxing to emboss, and will often grab a stack of paper scraps and emboss embellishments on them to add to cards, framed photos, gift tags, scrap books - anything I can stick paper too, lol. Be patient and let the tools do the work - don't tense up your hands, and don't use a ton of pressure. It also helps to make some registration marks (little marks to line up to the template) on your work, just in case it gets shifted. A little masking tape on the templates or your work can also be helpful. Once you get the hang of it, it can be addictive!

I initially bought the Scrapboss Starter Set as Fiskars recommends using it for the textured plates. Unfortunately the peg holes of the texture plates do not correspond with the Scrapboss peg holes. Apart from this I am enjoying the free stencil that came along with the Scrapboss. Although it is designed for 12"x12" scrapbooking I use if for my handmade cards and it has added a new dimension to my greeting cards. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in paper craft.

Did not realize it was a storage case too! That's gotta be my favorite feature. Comes with 2 tools (bonus!!) and a stencil pattern (which I didn't have before, but now I have another one to add to my inventory!!) which is really great! The booklet inside has some really great ideas I wouldn't have thought of and it's directions are easy to follow. I have tried embossing with Fiskars stencils before, and have griped that I didn't get this board when it was in the stores. I am so happy now that I have it, and I now also have a place to keep my stencils.

My scrapboss just arrived and I am so happy with it. Everything was included that should be, and it looks just about brand new. I really love stenciling, so this is going to be so useful to me. I'm so thrilled I got this!I now have the littler one too, the ShapeBoss, and I love them both. I'm a stencil nut, and I like taking these outside and make my cards and projects out in the courtyard of my building, under the trees.

Pretty cool for those who don't have a light table. Sometimes it's tricky to mark the figures without them moving but when you get the hang of it, then you'll have a nice crafting tool.

I like it and will probably use it as will some of my students (senior citizens) but think that it might be a little difficult for some...wasn't totally what I expected, don't think that it was total value for the price!

This is supposed to fit Fiskars texture plates (written on the plates packaging), but the pegs don't fit through them. I would say the texture plates were the item that I'm unhappy with, except that they can be used without the scrapboss. I find that it is the scrapboss that sits on the table without being useful.
