It works -- dilutes glare -- driving become safer
I regularly drive at roughly 8:00 a.m. in the direction of the sun. That produces a dangerous situation. With one hand I am steering and the other I am protecting eyes so I can see where I am going. The car's visor does not go low enough for protection. So I got one of these. When I am driving into the sun I flip it down and most of the glare is gone; it is just light. That is successful. You might want to check your car to see if you can install it. The projected way to install would not work in my car because the car's visor did not have enough space between it and the ceiling for installation. So I installed it from the front instead. I can do that because the visor is large enough to keep the TAC Visor in place. It also makes it possible for me to drop the TAC Visor down lower than would have been possible. That is a benefit. The visor in my car is big enough to hold the TAC Visor securely. So it is good all around.

Only viable in very selective applications
I saw this product on TV an decided to give it a try. Was completely disappointed in both fit and function. I drive a Nissan vehicle and I would caution anyone with that make to consider long and very hard before spending your money on this visor. It was relatively easy to install. Once installed, I discovered that the swing of the OEM visor was limited considerably. I am relatively tall and when I tried swing the OEM visor down, it was so restricted that I could not see out of the windshield. When the complete assembly was in the retracted position, I was concerned about the edges of both visors in the event of a forward collision. It seemed to me that they might cause considerable injury. Even more disappointing was the function of the dark visor. While it does darken what you see, It did not remove reflected glare, as claimed on TV. I’ve got a set polarized sunglasses that do a much better job of reducing glare. In the spirit of full disclosure, I may not understand the advantage that the night vision visor is supposed to offer. I really could not tell much difference in the glare coming from oncoming traffic. I did not test the visor in extended (greater than 100 miles) driving. It is possible that the night vision might offer a reduction in eye fatigue. I cannot attest to that, however. One really quirky and somewhat irritating problem with this assembly is that caused by the clear plastic used for the visor swivels. When the dark visor is down, this swivel can transmit sunlight into the driver’s eyes. If all else worked as advertised, this design problem would be a deal breaker. Save your money … this product does not seem to work as advertised. I’m hoping that it can be returned.

Works as Advertised but there are flaws in its functioning
I will disagree with many here in that it does provide protection from glare with direct sunlight. BUT THERE ARE FLAWS in how it was developed.First let me explain. Eight months ago I was heading into the Superstition Mountains on a Saturday AM to do some hiking with friends. The sun early in the AM hit my windshield and all I could see was a yellow light and could not see the road. I was almost killed due to this Sunlight glare.Fast forward and I purchased the Bell and Howell TacVisor as why buy a cheap version. Since I am up early in the mornings to go hiking, kayaking, etc I get the sun at its worst (or best considering how you look at it). Now with the TacVisor in the early morning sun I can see perfectly. Yes the color is off but the glare is gone and that is what I wanted it for.So it does work. Then you will ask why did I only give it a rating of 3 and not a 5? Well it is made poorly. When driving on dirt or rock fill roads and the vehicle is bumpy, TacVisor flows down whether I want it or not. Both the day light and night time visors flow down meaning I literally have to use one hand to hold it up. There is no way to tighten the visors so they will not flow down. So YES it is made poorly. As the is Bell and Howell making the product I am surprised they did such a poor job.I now use bands to hold the visors up, one for the night time and one for the daytime. The existing problem is when I need the nighttime visor, the daytime visor flows down.I think B&H need to fix this flaw and offer a replacement to those who need it. So the visors work but the mechanics of the visor are too cheaply made to be worth the $19.95. I remember when made in the USA meant quality. This visor is made so cheaply it must have been made in China and they just use the B&H name,Until B&H fixes this flaw, I would save your money and buy the knockoffs as they see just as good or better...

I love it. Mom doesn't.
Pics: sunshine through visor; rainy day without visor; rainy day through visor; daytime headlights through visor; night time headlights through the visor. Last three - I took the pictures with my camera right up to the visor.I've been using one for a long time and I love it! The blinding headlights coming at me and the sun blasting in my eyes are the most annoying things, so this is great! I can actually see the road still when a car with bright lights passes me.One negative thing is that it pulls the shade flap down so that it hangs a bit in the way. I have an extra shade pull, so I was able to prop it up by putting that behind the rearview mirror. My mom doesn't like it. I bought one for her as a gift, but she says it's just not something she can get used to. It makes the area right in front of the car about 20% darker.

Useful and quality
I bought one many years ago and loved it. There are many different ones on line but the original one I haven't seen anything close.I had to purchase a new one because my dad needed wanted one and I couldn't find this local anymore so was glad it was here. I personally wouldn't waste my time on any of the knock offs just because this one is big enough durable and works perfectly for better visibility. A no brainer for me if you want the right thing first time original one only and truck on the box not the car if you want to make sure it's large enough in my opinion...

Not really large enough
Basically I bought this because I have a hard time driving at night because of the blinding nights. Personally, I did not find that it made a big difference. Everything just appears yellow. The other visor for the day works very well. One thing to note, they could be wider. They do not cover enough of the drivers vision.

Not made for Canadian winters
Worked well in both the bright sun and night driving but I had serious safety concerns that if my airbags were to ever deploy, I'd likely end up scalped or seriously injured!More importantly, after our first cold winter storm here a big chunk of the plastic broke off when my purse banged into it and I don't mean anything aggressive at all, just me chucking my purse on to the passenger side seat and it happened to bang into it slightly on it way into the seat which was surprisingly enough for it to snap! It was only -15C and it can get much colder than that we're I'm from in Canada! So because of this, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Effective at reducing glare but durability is questionable
This item works well for its intended purpose, reducing glare etc. You have to be careful switching/flipping panels though as all components are plastic and seem like they could break very easily. The clip attaching to the visor seems to be decent but can slip off at times.
