Off the Beaten Track: North Georgia (Mountain Bike Guide Series Vol. 3) Paperback – April 8, 2009

We bought this book as a present for my dad for Christmas. He loved it! He is an avid road/ mountain biker. And when he comes to stay with us in GA from FL him and my husband are always looking for new Mountain bike trails. This book did a great job of telling you where the trails are and the lay out of them!! Would definitely purchase again for someone else who loves biking in GA!

I got this book to help guide us on a week long trip to Northern Georgia. As with any guide book, the descriptions are the authors recommendations. I recommend using this book along with some internet research to plan your rides. Both have great information to maximize your trail experience.

This is a good book and well written. Its a book that you need in your collection if you mountain bike in N GA. Its a little out dated and there needs to be a newer version or a more current type book.MTM

This little book is a simple trail guide that's not all inclusive of GA but will get you on the path to some nice trails (various levels) and get you thinking about exploring new trail! Simple, EZ, throw in your gear bag & GO!

Jim Parham's guide to North Georgia mountain biking does a good job of including most of the trails a rider may encounter in the northern third of the state. Each trail is laid out on a two page spread, making it easy to copy the page and map on an 8.5x11 sheet to take along with you. All essential information is there, including distances, difficulty ratings, and elevation profiles. The things I didn't like about this book are: the layout - the book is divided into 'Easiest' 'More Difficult' and 'Most Difficult.' Different trails in one area may fall under each category making it difficult to locate and read on all the trails in a given area. Also, the descriptions are very short, no more than a brief paragraph.
