Amazing product. I love it. But.....
This is a great product, my kid loves to use it. However, there is a major design flaw that I think can be easily implemented in a 2.0 version of this product. Currently the weight of your child is transferred to your shoulders and carried by your back. The resolution is two parts. First, pad the shoulder straps better. Second, add a waist buckle like a backpacking pack and sew the straps coming up from the foot bar to the waist straps rather than the shoulder or to both waist and shoulder. I would pay double for this product if they implemented this change. It would make longer hikes easier and it would put the weight on your legs instead of your back and shoulders.Any ways I digress... I would buy this again and I recommend it to anyone with a toddler who doesn't want to hike for more than a half hour.Pro tip: make your kid walk until you need this, then put them in it so you aren't worn out and tired as quickly.I did not receive a discount for my honest review. I just happen to give honest reviews.

This is nice as it gives her a break from the walk ...
We are transitioning from our osprey to having our toddler walk full-time during hikes and walks. This is nice as it gives her a break from the walk but is not bulky to keep on. It is taxing if wearing her for extended periods but we are trying to encourage her to walk so not a big deal. We love it, she loves it. If you are looking for something to wear for long periods, this is not your solution - but a great transition piece for a toddler who needs breaks during long days out!

Tiny human approved
Easy to use and get my tiny human on it it's great since he can see and I don't have to keep holding or chasing him. When he wants down, we are able to make that happen.

Minimalist footprint for child carrying apparatus
Great for getting through airports, walking around parks when our 2.5 yo is tired of walking, short hikes, grocery stores.Getting the bar adjusted to the right height is key for the adult, as well as adjusting the front straps as the kiddo grows.Fits in the diaper bag with minimal effort.

Love the concept, here's a tweak I'd recommend
So, this idea is awesome! After giving my (small) 4 year old an old fashioned piggy back ride through all of downtown Chicago, we needed something like this for any future vacation where little legs could give out. We used the Piggyback rider for a hike in the mountains of Virginia, and again for a hike through the Redwood forests of Northern California. In our personal experience, the narrow standing surface and riding angle put a lot of stress on already tired little legs. Our son couldn't handle riding for more than 10 minutes without a break. We also agree with some of the other reviewers, that if you raise the standing platform high enough to not interfere with the parent's stride (waist or slightly lower) the ride can become pretty scary.HOWEVER, the piggyback rider was still a life saver for us on our last trip. 3 miles out from our car, our little guy couldn't handle walking or riding in a standing position any longer. We wrapped the standing bar to make it into a soft seat, and adjusted the ride height so he could ride more like a traditional piggy back ride, sitting on the bar. This was MUCH better than a traditional piggy back rider for both the rider and the parent-of-burden. The harness carries the weight, rather than both parties hanging on with their arms. Keep in mind that the Piggyback rider is not designed to be used in this manner. Just saying that it worked for us.The bar is not an idea seat, being quite narrow and squared off. It would be great if the Piggybackrider team offered a seat conversion or cover, but in the meantime we're using a extra large pool noodle to cover the foot bar and make it into an fairly comfortable seat.

Can be painful for thin moms
I waited a super long time on back order for it so when it arrived I just assumed it would meet at the hype around it. My 3 year old is in the 95 percentile so she is a real "big" girl, she doesn't always keep her feet at the ends of the bar which does put pressure oh my back. I'm thin build and the straps dig in my collar bones, however it's been useful the museum and places strollers are not allowed. I let her down for "breaks" because I get uncomfortable. We keep it in the car with a big rubber band to hold it together until the next time.We did practice runs at home so she would know not to hold my head, to stand up tall etc that's my recommednation too, moms!

Haven’t hiked with it yet. Will update.
I haven’t taken this out for a hike yet but both my girlfriend and I are able to carry my four year old daughter with ease. I also bought the waist strap attachment to take weight off the shoulders and distribute some of it to the waist. My daughter is comfortable on it from the limited use its had so far and she loves getting on it. I’ll update when we take it out for a spin.

Awesome but...
We really wanted this to work out for us but it is too big for me, the parent carrying the kid. I can see this being so awesome for someone that was a bit taller. I want to mention that the product seems really well made and is nicely padded where it counts.I'm 5'4'', 125 lbs. My kid is 3 years old, 38 in tall, and about 30 lbs. With the across the chest straps adjusted as small as they can go, it was still too loose. It has an elastic section that was a nice touch and I could see that being very comfy had I been able to adjust the strap tighter. The carrier felt fine without the kid on there, but once they hopped on, it would have felt a lot more comfortable for me if the cross chest strap were tighter. The bar hung just past mid bum for our parent kid combo. For longer walks it would have helped to have the additional back support piece. But the bar would have been up too high up on me for my kid to feel stable.
