My son loves this chess set but the pieces are a little flimsy! A lot of the characters weapons are bent even before coming out of the box!

If you like 'Star Wars' and you want to learn chess then this is the one for you. Chess is great for youngsters, or any one else. It teaches you about life.and what decisions to take along the way.

The image online made the figures look like they were of superior quality that someone might want to buy to add to a collection, but in reality they were just grey plastic. Not at all what I expected for the price charged. And to add insult to injury it cost me £18.45 to return it.

Both are both Star Wars and Chess enthusiasts. I wasn’t sure about the set, when I bought it because I had bought so many other great toys. I lost one of my two sons ten years ago and my grandson is my only grandson, so I tend to go overboard with the gifts. I thought it might get lost in the sea of gifts I bought, but they were so excited that shortly after opening the gifts and chasing us around for a while with the life-like dinosaur puppets I bought, they excitedly ripped open the box and proceeded to play a game of Star Wars Chess. My daughter-in-law was going to buy one for them, but was glad she hadn’t, since the set she was looking at was not as nice. The price is a bit steep, even though it’s Star Wars and everything official is over priced. I also thought the pieces could have a little more detail for the price, but they loved them. I should add that the bases are marked for specific pieces. We might have known that, had we read the directions, but who reads the directions for Chess? We are very happy with our purchase and believe any child who is both a Star Wars and Chess enthusiast will be very happy to get them.
