Great Wake-Up Light, But Lacks Pre-Recorded Sounds
The Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 is an excellent wake-up light, and I’ve been really impressed with how it improves my morning routine. The gradual sunrise simulation is a brilliant feature, slowly filling the room with light to gently wake you up, which feels so much more natural than a harsh alarm. It’s helped me feel more refreshed in the mornings, especially during darker winter months. The sunset feature is just as great for winding down in the evenings, gradually dimming the light to help me fall asleep more easily. What I love most is how well the light mimics natural daylight, and its simplicity is actually a big part of its charm. There's no complex setup or unnecessary features—just a well-designed, effective alarm clock. It's ideal for anyone who struggles with traditional alarms and prefers a more soothing wake-up experience. The design is sleek, fits nicely on my bedside table, and blends well with my room’s decor. However, for the price, I do wish it came with some pre-recorded sounds to accompany the light. For a high-end product like this, it seems like a missed opportunity. It’s a minor letdown, but considering everything else this clock does, it’s something I’m willing to overlook. A few nature sounds or gentle alarm tones would have been the icing on the cake.Overall, it’s a fantastic product that does exactly what it’s meant to—wakes you up in a calm, pleasant way. If pre-recorded sounds aren’t a deal-breaker for you, this wake-up light is nearly perfect!

A really good wake-up light
Having gone deaf, alarms that use sound aren't any good to me. I've had a wake-up light before from Phillips but I actually prefer my Lumie one, and here's why:1. You can turn off the sound, which might be good for some hearing people. This model of Lumie light has an *optional* beep, but you can turn it to zero when you set the alarm. More expensive Lumie models have background sounds like mountain streams, goats, etc, but this one doesn't. The sound on my old Phillips one couldn't be turned off, and (back when I could hear it!), was rudely awoken by what sounded like a gong and a furious baboon.2. You can turn off the clock display. If you want complete darkness in your room at night, or you find seeing the time annoying if you're struggling to sleep, this is a great setting. Once it's turned off, you just need to tap the light for the clock to show for a couple of seconds. It'll also display if you put something down next to the light! But that's not a big problem.3. You can change the brightness of the clock display. An option if you don't want to turn off the display completely but don't want to have the time seered into your eyeballs.4. The wake-up time is set at half an hour. So if you set your alarm for 7 am the light starts to glow from 6.30 am. More expensive Lumies (and maybe cheaper ones from other brands) give you a selection of wake-up periods (eg. 15, 30, or 45 minutes), but I find 30 minutes perfectly fine for me.5. It has a sunset setting. So if you want to be lulled to sleep with the room slowly darkening, this would be great for you. Again, this is set at 30 minutes.6. You can use it as a bedside light. Just use the plus button to turn it on, and minus to turn off (you'll need to press them several times as it goes through the phases of the sunrise/sunset cycles.7. It's fairly easy to use. Just read the manual first, and it'll all make a lot of sense!

An absolute miracle for someone who cannot get up in the mornings!
A little background first, I am terrible at getting up in the mornings, just terrible......weirdly during all of the lockdowns I did manage to get up early and go out for a run most days but somehow I got out of the habit, so I was really looking for something that would help be get up early again.I looked through a lot of the Lumie lamps and there were mixed reviews on all of them (even the pricier ones) but this one seemed to have the main thing I was looking for which was a sunrise alarm where I could just use the light option without have a sound option as well.So out of the box it was quite simple to setup although I did need to refer to the instructions for setting the alarm, its not very bulky either, looks nice and is actually a good replacement for my bedside lamp. After setting it up it has probably taken about 10 days to adjust to bring woken up gradually by the light, but I am pleased to report that I am now back to getting up early again, with hardly any groggyness and I feel much more alert during the day too!My only gripe (which I knew about when I purchased this) and the reason for not giving 5 stars, is that you have to set the alarm every day, I've forgotten a couple of times but I mostly remember to do it. But other than that, at this price point it's pretty damn good.I am a Lumie convert now!

Much nicer light than the cheap alternatives
I had purchased another light before for £30 off Amazon. It was one of those cylinder yokes with a really shiny finish.I just didn't think I wanted to pay £80 for an alarm but in hindsight I should've gone for Lumie right away. The light looks much nicer in the room. I like the matte look of the light cover. The light is much nicer than the cheaper product I used before and it actually changes brightness much smoother. It's easy to set up and I like that the time turns of automatically at night (if you chose that setting).Personally, I don't use the Alarm tone but I could see how people may be looking for alternative sounds such as forest sounds, birds etc. The cheaper light I had before had that option, this Lumie does not as far as I can tell.Either way, the light makes waking up a much nicer experience. I tend to set an alarm a few minutes after Lumie reaches peak brightness just to make sure I get up. In 90% of the cases I'm up already.I really enjoy it. It's quite pricey but I think you certainly see the quality difference over a cheap light.
