MANUAL FIRMWARE UPDATE REQUIRED FOR SWITCH 2
This controller is awesome, especially for the price. I think I would rather buy two of these controllers then one Official Pro Controller.I bought this specifically for the Switch 2 since the Switch 2 Pro Controller is so pricey and hard to even get. I had previously bought a 8bitdo controller for my PC and have had nothing but good experiences with it so I bought this for the Switch 2. I love the $29 dollar price tag.I was worried when I first got the controller however, because the controller would not pair with the Switch 2. I tried pairing wirelessly and using a wire connected to the Switch 2. Neither would pair. Turns out the controller needs a Firmware updated to be able to pair with the Switch 2. It would pair with my Switch 1, just not Switch 2.The Firmware was pretty easy to install, however finding the right software and Firmware package was not he easiest. The Firmware that I installed was also a beta Firmware and not even officially released. As a software engineer, this was not a big deal for me but I could see of lot of typical consumers buy this controller for Switch 2 and send it back thinking it is defective.Other then the Firmware issue, the controller has worked flawlessly and I love it.

The best of the budget level controllers
Almost every Switch controller I’ve gotten has fallen victim to stick drift over time and I was beyond sick of how much money I was wasting on controllers when I’m a casual player at best and never had to deal with this on any generation of consoles prior to this. It was unheard of for even my cheap controllers to fail before. I have one 8BitDo controller still kicking so I wanted to invest in another, this time wondering if they had any with Hall effect, a technology touted as the solution to stick drift. While I haven’t had it long enough to verify the long term, I will say, I love that it is light, ergonomic and for the price, very worth it if the Hall Effect feature is what it claims to be. Connecting was super easy; first time use, I turned on my Switch (we have three other Switches in this house so I didn’t want to risk pairing to someone else’s on accident) and pressed the ‘pixel heart’ home button and I was good to go. I love that the indicator lights are under the bottom lip so they’re not shining in your face at night or low light. I played for hours today to give it a good test run and so far, so good. The buttons don’t feel as slick and quiet as pricier controllers, but the stick textures are perfect. I haven’t messed with the additional buttons or programming but there are plenty extras for those that do. I like the location of them; not easy to press unintentionally like some configurations. Overall, it just confirms why I bought from them a second time.

Surprisingly Solid for the Price
Overall, the controller offers great quality for the price. The build doesn’t feel as premium as some higher-end models, and you can tell it’s a bit more budget-friendly, but it still holds up really well where it matters. The battery life is excellent and lasts a long time, so you won’t need to charge it constantly. The Hall effect sticks are also a big plus — they feel smooth, accurate, and really satisfying to use. I compared it to my Ultimate Bluetooth Controller, and while the build quality isn’t exactly the same, this one still feels surprisingly good for what it costs. If you’re looking for a versatile and affordable controller, this is definitely one of the best options out there.

Controller couldn't even support super mario sliding while crouching.
I connected this to a TV that had an NES emulator so I could play childhood games. At first I thought this controller was kind of mispriced because it looked just look an Xbox controller, felt better, had two more buttons, and even came with a rechargeable battery. Something felt a little off with my game play but I kept assuming it was just my rust in having not played in 30 years. Well, after using another one of this companies controllers without the grips but for $10 more, I realized that this controller isn't capable. I couldn't slide with mario under blocks, not because of my skill but because the controller wasn't sending signals properly. I couldn't consistently jump and kick in a fighting game I was playing because the controller wasn't responding to my every command. In short, don't buy.

Easy return/replacement of faulty controller
The first one I bought lost connection randomly while wired, but was easy to replace. AKNES is a trusted reseller of 8bitdo and they are worth doing business with.

Great controller
I like this better than the Pro controller and it's less than half the price.I wish they had more standard colors, but the dark blue is nice enough.

Compliments the Switch Pro controller.
The joysticks on the Ultimate 2C have a shorter throw than the Switch Pro controller. I feel this is an advantage in games like Metroid Dread where you are mostly aiming the joystick in a circle. However in games like Breath of the Wild it feels less precise than the Switch Pro controller. The buttons are much louder on the Ultimate. It can keep family members up during an intense boss battle during the night. I imagine it feels close to an Xbox controller although I haven't held one since the 360 era. The D-Pad is quite functional. No wrong inputs unlike the switch pro. It feels different than the other 8bitdo offerings but on par with them. A little soft but precisely clicky. Worked fine on my PC, Steam detected it as a Switch Pro controller wired. Kind of bland color selection. The Hall Effect thing is a bit overhyped but welcome. All that matters is how everything is implemented together.
