A truly remarkable cross-cultural film that manages to be respectful of Indian culture, critical of Indian culture and then present the story of a guy who got mad enough at the exclusion of women during their time of the month to do something about it. You see village life, the taboos, urban life, the rich, the poor, the industrialists, the innovators - quite an astonishing balance, some playing themselves. He believed Indian women were being ripped off and eventually found a way through enormous struggles and failures to do something everyone told him was impossible.It is funny, upsetting, brutally honest and has a wonderful emotional complication in it with his business partner getting closer and closer as his wife gets more isolated but eventually he is reconciled once he hits it bigtime - how true it is we do not know unless he writes a book but it is a really satisfying film. You see a recreation of his addressing the UN in broken English and you cannot help but love it.In Bollywood style they pick the most handsome Indian actor you can find who actually speaks in real life with a perfect English accent, whereas the real pad-man who gets a tiny frame at the end is rather small and fat. We can forgive them for that though, a great spectacle. Definitely a husband and wife film.

It was really good I enjoyed it. He kept going regardless that women felt awkward when he made the pads. Hilarious
