Best purchase ever!
This is an amazing product! It was recommended by our vet because our German shepherd started to drag his back knuckles because of hip dysplasia. It caused his nails to be ground down to the quick which caused a lot of bleeding and pain. These boots gave him a new lease on life. There was a bit of a learning curve but, once you get it right it is amazing for the dog. It is important to keep the muscle tone in his back legs. These go on whenever we walk (usually twice a day).It was not hard for him to get used to because he can actually walk without the pain and dragging which makes us all happy.

It works and helps with my dog's quality of life
(4.5 stars)Writing this for our German Shepherd mix who is using XL boot on his rear leg. He's recently started 4 meds for an initial diagnosis of hip dysplasia, mostly to treat his inflammation and pain. I suspect that may not be the complete diagnosis for his mobility issue so monitoring his progress. Sadly, he only gets short walks now.I was disheartened when he started to drag his rear paw to the point of bleeding. We stopped his walks until we tried this contraption.I am really happy that it worked! Initially I didn't install it properly and it kept slipping off when he walked. I was ready to give up. If you experience this, please be patient and try adjusting the fit. After some adjustments, he was able to take an entire walk (albeit short one) without constant stops to get the boot back on his leg. He's not dragging the boot so the design is helping him pick up his toe as he walks. I like the dial that allows me to easily adjust the tension to keep his toe up, but not too tight where it's uncomfortable or unnatural for his natural stride (as far as I can tell).I am withholding the 0.5 stars until I get a better sense of its durability:1- Wear - We've used this for about 1.5 weeks and only for short outdoor walks on concrete sidewalks. The rubber nubs on the bottom of the boot has just about worn down. I sure hope this lasts for more than a couple of months.2- Tear - The plastic (?) wire that connects the upper and lower parts of the boot to raise the toe looks delicate considering it has to pick up the stride for my 80-pound dog. I don't know what weight it is rated for but I sure hope it is stronger than it looks. It would be a shame if we had to replace the boot because the wire fails. This was kind of expensive but relative to his medication cost and considering it is allowing him to have at least short walks without hurting himself, it's worth the money. He loves his walks! We love our dog dearly. We want him to have a good quality of life as long as possible. This product is helping with that.

Just order them, your dog deserves a step to not consider
Highly recommend! Do not hesitate to buy these if your dog is knuckling, for whatever reason. It works!! The only thing that I would be cautious of is he small cut fishline thread cuts on the inside of the shoe and wrap. Many never think of this but these fishline cuts are sticking into you dogs foot/leg with this boot and wraps on. OUCH. I take gorillla brand tape and put a layer of smoothness over the horrid sharp cut thread ends. Other wise zero complaints and they work

I tried
Great quality but my German Shepherd couldn't get used to wearing it. It definitely gave her the support she needed though. It was for her right front paw. She kept bringing her whole arm out to the right with every step causing her to put more pressure on her other joints. I tried every day for 2 weeks but she never got used to it. Very good quality though.

Gave my dog a second life
These no knuckle boots have given my 12 year old Labrador a second life. She has Lar Par or larangeal paralysis and the neuropathy affects her back legs. The knuckling of her paws was painful for her and she could not walk far. Once we got her these boots there was a happy jaunt in her step. And while the disease is progressing, these boots are letting Ellie live her best life until the end.

Stops knuckling
I bought 2 two of these of my dog's rear legs to help her walk and to stop knuckling. Works really well. She has shorter legs so I had to overlap the braces, a little but they still works great.

Update - they don't last long for the price.
Update: (These do work. But they are not sturdy enough for large dogs. We have purchased 3 since November and will have to buy another one because another one broke. The point where the fishing line material connects to the shoe is not secured very well.) We have a 15 year old 100 choc lab with degenerative myelopathy and whose back paws drop and lack strength. We found these shoes to bought them at the end of November. They immediately helped her walk better and kept her back paws from dropping. A couple of observations. My girl has big fat paws so I bought the extra large size and after several weeks of walks, she developed sores where they were rubbing too much on her paw. So we fixed that by buying some thin women’s sports socks to be between the shoe and her paw. We did try other braces that said they would help but these worked the best.
