Review: A Surreal Descent into the Soul’s Shadow - Few television experiences have etched themselves so deeply into the collective subconscious as Twin Peaks. With Twin Peaks: From Z to A, fans are offered not merely a collector’s box set, but an immaculate, lovingly curated journey into the haunted heart of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s dark dream. Containing every moment from the original series, Fire Walk With Me, The Return, and a treasure trove of unseen footage and behind-the-scenes material, this set is more than a retrospective — it’s a Rosetta Stone to decipher the show’s dense and symbolic cosmology. And nowhere is this more powerful, more cryptic, or more gut-wrenching than in its treatment of garmonbozia, represented visually as creamed corn — a substance both mundane and malevolent. In the eerie, nonlinear world of Twin Peaks, garmonbozia is far more than a food item. It is a distillation of human suffering — pain and sorrow rendered into a literal, consumable form. The Z to A set, by including pristine remasters and extended cuts of key scenes, allows viewers to study and interpret moments involving garmonbozia with renewed clarity. The chilling scene in Fire Walk With Me where the Man from Another Place demands garmonbozia reveals just how deeply Lynch wove moral horror into his metaphysics. What we see is the commodification of anguish, the harvesting of trauma — and the revelation that supernatural entities, like BOB and the other spirits of the Black Lodge, feed on it. The creamed corn itself is an unsettling image: bland, domestic, yet disturbingly out of place in the otherworldly context of the Lodge. Its luminescent sheen and sudden appearances suggest that pain itself is not just felt — it’s transmuted, consumed, and recycled in this terrifying system. In The Return, this concept is revisited with an even more abstract and cosmic tone. Garmonbozia becomes not only sustenance for evil, but a kind of psychic currency, a manifestation of metaphysical debt that must be paid. Z to A gives this haunting metaphor the space and reverence it deserves. By packaging the series chronologically and including the feature-length “Missing Pieces” from Fire Walk With Me, viewers can trace how the visual and thematic motif of creamed corn evolves across decades. It’s a dark thread connecting Laura Palmer’s suffering, Dale Cooper’s fracturing psyche, and the cyclical nature of trauma passed through families and time. This box set doesn’t just present garmonbozia as a curiosity — it reveals it as the emotional and philosophical core of Twin Peaks. It’s the show’s ultimate truth: that pain, if ignored or exploited, feeds into a self-perpetuating nightmare. The suffering of Laura Palmer, symbolized so grotesquely in a few kernels of corn, becomes the raw material for an entire metaphysical economy of evil. And yet, by confronting it — by watching, understanding, and empathizing — we break its power. Twin Peaks: From Z to A is not just a definitive edition. It’s a descent into a mythic underworld, and garmonbozia is its unholy sacrament. Every Lynchian whisper, every red curtain, every uncanny stillness draws us toward that truth. This collection dares us to look — truly look — at what suffering means, how it lingers, and what it might cost to set it free. Review: Meanwhile... - A must have for Twin Peaks fans, a worthwhile purchase to complete the collection. Really impressed with the transition to Blu-ray, and the amount of special features will definitely satiate those interested in the deeper lore and creative processes behind this one-of-a-kind groundbreaking masterpiece of a series. Personally, I didn't find any difficulty in navigating the actual case and discs, as several other reviews previously mentioned, but I will say that already owning several other series sets with similar casing may have helped me there. Still, all discs were easily removed from the case, and some stacking really won't be an issue as long as discs are treated with care. Absolutely would recommend to anyone with even a passing interest in Twin Peaks, or one of its co-creators, the inimitable David Lynch. Great quality set of an endlessly rewatchable series!

Scientists have discovered the worst possible DVD case
Science has discovered the worst and most horrible DVD case, and this is it. I almost want to give it 1-star, but solely for the case. I had to go through a couple of reorders/exchanges of this listing because each time it would arrive with at least one (or more) significantly cracked or chipped disc(s), as well as a couple loose and floating free within the larger case (that probably contributed to the damage). If you get an intact copy, however, the product itself is good in both quality and quantity of the content included. I’ve immediately gotten a separate multi-DVD binder case to replace this plastic one because it’s so insanely difficult to pry the discs out of - the taller center holders cause a LOT of tension on the disc to remove, and the plastic overhanging clips are just a bit too wide which made it even more difficult to get a disc out. I removed them all once to check for damage and the next time will be the last, to load them into a different container. Amazon did provide the multiple exchanges at no cost other than getting to the return location, so there’s that. This particular case style seems to be very popular for multi-disc series and such (seen it in many stores also) but it really needs to be eradicated from the market. I’d gladly sacrifice a bit more shelf space for a case that isn’t the worst one we’ve ever invented. I love Twin Peaks however, so I’m happy now that I have a complete copy and a new case for it on the way.

When it's on sale, it's well worth it!
What a bargain! I had all of this on DVD (5 separate units: Pilot, 1st Season set, 2nd Season set, Fire Walk with Me, and The Return set) so I was glad to tidy up my movie shelf with this complete set. And, of course, the upgrade to Blu-ray was certainly worth it as well. The dark scenes look much better in this higher resolution. Plenty of extras included, although none of the commentaries from the old 1st Season set are here; but we do have the Log Lady intros and the Missing Pieces (which I didn't have). I like the 1st/2nd Season menus as well, it's interesting to watch the compilation clips. It was tempting to drop a star for the horrible packaging, but it's the contents that count. The spindles truly are capable of damaging the discs, as they are very stiff and half of them don't have a tab to squeeze for release. At the very least, one has to bend the disc up, slide the fingers under it and slowly twist it out. If one chooses to keep the discs in this horrible case, I would recommended taking a worthless disc, such as a Marvel superhero movie, and placing it on top of the valuable Twin Peaks disc during the removal operation...this will provide support and hopefully keep it from snapping in half. Not wanting to spend another $50 on new cases which wouldn't keep the set all together as I prefered, I just took a Mill Creek case that I already had and used it. It was one of those "50 movies for ten bucks" plastic cases. I moved those discs out and inserted the Twin Peaks discs; the disc envelopes were already there and the cover insert fit in too. Problem solved. Included is a photo showing the the result.

David Lynch visionary genius
One of the best TV series to ever exist. Even with the ups and downs that came with the original series, this show is top 10 in T.V. history. David also did such a beautiful job wrapping up with the limited event series.

The Ultimate Twin Peaks Boxset.
This set has Everything! The entire original series, the pilot that was released as a film in Europe, "Fire Walk With Me", The Missing Pieces that were cut from FWWM, Twin Peaks; The Return and loads of extras. "The Missing Pieces" is a whole movie unto itself, as a Twin Peaks fan it blew me away and solved, (or more precisely Deepened) the whole storyline. Great Box set!

Not As Originally Advertised
Twin Peaks is one of the all time greatest television/film series, so I was very excited to pre-order the re-release of the “From Z to A” collection. I was very disappointed with the packaging, as when I had pre-ordered, many of the photos in the product paged advertised showed a beautiful set in cardboard/textured material, with all discs packaged in paper sleeves themed to the Black Lodge, as well as several glossy photo prints and a cutout of Laura Palmer and Dale Cooper together. However, this re-release came in a very thin, cheap plastic case where many of the discs are stacked directly on top of each-other flimsily and not well protected, and included no photos, paper sleeves, or the character cut out, which were all noted that they would be included in the item description at the time I made the purchase. In fact, several of the discs were “popped out” and loose in the case when I initially opened it with minor scratches. This product was falsely advertised when posted on Amazon, however the content on the discs are amazing and it is still worth a purchase to be able to own all 3 seasons and the movie. Just be weary of purchasing if you are looking for the nice packaging the original “from Z to A” collection came in.
