Benfotiamine by itself is a form of vitamin B1 which has several benefits; but this formulation pairs it up with alpha lipoic acid (aka ALA) which has other benefits. When combined, according to the National Institute of Health studies, this combination has enhanced benefits.I personally was interested in the B1 benefit, but the ALA addition is a plus in my opinion. And it is always a good idea to get the other added benefits just in case they may be useful to your specifiv needs. I am not a doctor and you should do your own research and maybe talk to your health care professional if you have any doubts.Note that ALA can sometimes cause undesirable side effects for some people; the benfotiamine apparently has no side effects. Start slow with a low dose to make sure you are OK with the ingredients, and stop if you have any bad side effects.Be safe and enjoy this product, I am very happy with the easy to take capsules; and at the recommended serving size, this package is a 75 to 150 day supply.

When I evaluate new health supplements, I look for brands that present with the type of products and certifications that prove they are organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested and American made with clean formulas. VITAL HERBAL is new to me but appears to be a quality brand who’s profile includes the sourcing, manufacturing, testing standards, etc., that I look for when I buy supplements. Often times with new supplements, I will find the brand has a track record with other products. VITAL HERBAL has many other products on Amazon that mostly have excellent reviews. They all have thoughtful formulations. Now that they are on my radar screen, I will be watching and considering their offerings.I like this VITAL HERBAL Liposomal Benfotiamine simple and clean formula, although I prefer the R-Lopic form. Also, I have noted that some of their other products do include flow agents and fillers in their supplements. I usually make my supplement choices based on what is NOT included in formulas as much as I care about what IS in the product I am ingesting. Organic herbal ingredients will always win me over before non-organic products.The Lady of the House has neuropathy issues and has been taking different brands of Benfotiamine for years. She tried this brand when it was offered on the Vine program and didn’t notice any differences, one way or the other, even though this was a higher dose liposomal product.It can be really hard to know exactly what or if you are getting benefits from a product. I do know from how I feel and perform, and from medical tests, that my supplement journey of ten years has yielded solid, measurable, significant improvements to my overall health and well being. It is also a medical axiom that what might work for me, might not work for you, or work differently for someone else.I follow a longevity expert who paid for independent lab testing for two dozen brands of two different supplements. Most failed miserably to live up to their claims. In both cases, only seven of the brands tested delivered more than 90 percent of the claimed capsule contents…. Hence the title of this review.Real independent lab testing is the only imperial evidence that can prove if a supplement is genuine to its claims. That is expensive and so are the good supplements.FYI: When rating supplements, four stars is as high as I will generally go unless I have solid evidence of a specific improvement in my health due to a particular supplement.

I take this to help prevent, and perhaps reduce glycation in my body. Glycation is when excess glucose binds to fats or proteins, creating highly inflammatory molecules that seriously damage tissues. It’s thought to be a major driver of the aging process. Let’s face it- we all like sweets, and eliminating them from our diet is a real challenge in this modern world where excess sugars are ubiquitous in processed foods. Ingesting benfotiamine, the fat soluble form of Thiamine, is an easy way to offset some of the effects. It’s been proven to help prevent glycation from occurring and some think it may potentially reduce already formed “glycation end products”, which are HIGHLY inflammatory. This is a liposomal version, which supposedly has greater bioavailability. I haven’t had time to research that part, but was happy to try it out. Easy to swallow, seems to be good. My A1c has been stable at 5.8 for about a year so benfotiamine definitely helps. I do take another OTC anti-glycation product, l-carnosine, which works synergistically with it. Can’t think of any reason to not rate it 5 stars.
