Great strings GDAE
I bought these GDAE strings to put on a Soprano Uke so I could play it with the same fingering as a mandolin. I think they work great, sound great, and I am thrilled with this purchase. I have a really cheap uke, but these strings do sound better than the original strings I had on it (in standard uke tuning), and I absolutely love that I can now tune my uke like a mandolin/fiddle and play it like that. Yay!

All but the E string
Overall, the strings are terrific. The nylon-wound low G string has a great sound, with a nylon feel. So it's perfect. The D and A strings are great, too. The E string broke in a week (but it was a great week!)As others have mentioned, save yourself the trouble and buy 20 lb-test nylon monofilament fishing line. Fluorocarbon also works, apparently. It's stronger and doesn't stretch as much, but it's more expensive and harder to work. Or find the line I stumbled across: A nylon/fluorocarbon hybrid made by Yo-Zuri. It's supposed to combine the strength of fluorocarbon with the flexibilty of nylon (useful when tying knots).(It sounds good to me, so that's what I'm going with.)The other thing to know: It really is a GDAE set, but the package doesn't tell you string diameters. All it says is 1:RED (that's the thinnest, high E string) 2:BLUE (the A string) 3:GREEN (the D string) 4:WHITE (the nylon-wound G string, in a separate plastic sleeve)The red, blue, and green strings are colored at one end. The white string, if it's colored, is hard to see. But there is a small white label on the sleeve it comes in.

Great sound, great price
I'm so glad to have found these strings! I started playing the ukulele about 8 months ago, and I quickly came to the conclusion that the standard high G just didn't give me the sound I wanted. As a fairly hesitant first-time ukulele owner, I didn't want to try any of the more jury-rigged solutions for getting a low G, like using a guitar D-string or using a string from a larger ukulele. So here I am! The package arrived promptly, and it contained 3 nylgut strings (C, E, A), and one wound metal string (G).I was a little concerned about inserting the string, simply because I wasn't sure if the stringing process was different for the metal than it would be for nylgut. All of the instructional videos I was able to find were for nylon strings, and lacking any evidence to the contrary I decided to put in the low G the same way, which has been working splendidly for the last 5 months or so-- hopefully someone can correct me if I should have done it some other way.As I say, I've been using these strings for the past 5 months, and I'm very pleased with their sound and longevity. The metal does, as other reviewers have mentioned, give the instrument a slightly different sound, but I don't think it's a bad sound. And contrary to what another reviewer said, I don't believe that the string rusts quickly-- rather, I think the string is composed of a nickel plating over a copper center, and frequent use causes the silver plating to wear off on the parts of the string that see the most action (high up on the fretboard and the sweet spot where you strum), and I can see why one might think the copper showing through was actually rust.Overall I'm very satisfied with these strings, and will definitely buy them again once this set wears out.

These strings are awesome!
I have a fiddle, a mandolin, a guitar, and a couple of ukuleles, so I change a lot of strings. I purchased this set so that I could practice my mandolin music while recovering from a finger injury. They make a really cheap soprano ukulele sound amazing. The intonation was perfect, and these strings really sing. It's a pleasure to play my new "mandolele". These strings are the best quality of any I have ever used. I was cautious about tuning the very, very thin first string all the way up to E5, so I took a few days to do it and had no problems. I cannot recommend these strings highly enough. Thank you Aquila for making them, and please don't stop!

Fantastic sound and feel
I had no idea how bad my nylon strings were until I made a little recording to practice with. I put these Aquila strings on my ukulele and it sounds so sweet. These strings didn’t take long to settle down. And they were made for the way I tune my soprano ukulele: A, D, F#, B. I’m never going back to Nylon! Also I tried Worth Brown strings a few years ago and they were dead, and gave hardly any sound. The Aquila’s sound SWEET!

Ottimo prodotto come sempre, spedizione rapidissima

Excellent
I bought these strings to put on a Lanikai LU11 (soprano) ukelele, and I am really thrilled with the sound - gentle, but very clean and crisp. Yes, initially they go out of tune within minutes, but I followed the various online recommendations to play them in, and after 10 days of doing that, they started to settle down nicely. I have found that the D string is the most unstable, but even that has improved so much that it isn't a significant problem now. So just for the price of these strings, I feel like I have a brand new and very lightweight instrument. I am delighted.
