These cough drops are terrible tasting but they do the job that you want them to do. After a while, you find that the taste is not so bad because you feel so much better after using them. No other cough drop is worth the money. If you have a cough or a sore throat, do yourself a favor and buy some of these. You will be converted.

After describing to a much older (and wiser) friend how my sleep was constantly interrupted by coughing, he advised me to try these drops. I didn't like them because they didn't taste like the much sweeter 'honey flavored' sugar coated cough drops I'd used for years. However, one night I ran out of my old favorites and pulled out the bag of Fisherman'd Friend I'd opened months before. I realized very quickly that though these weren't sweet, they worked much better at stopping my night time cough,allowing me to stay asleep. I purchased this large bundle because I now keep them in my travel case, my car, next to my bed and in my purse. I do not want to be caught without these...they work!

First of all, I would like to say that I don't intend to buy this for cough like others do. I have been using this product since I was 14 to suppress my asthma condition(THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT CURE ASTHMA). I have been purchasing mint product to suppress my asthma since I was 8 or 9 as I found out it does work for me. Then one day, at 7-eleven kiosk, I noticed this product, which is the most expensive cough drop that is available, without hesitation, i tried them and found out they are even better than Halls Menthol Extra Strong (haven't seen it in US, it is available in Malaysia though) which I have been using all along. Even Clorets Optimints and Halls Cool Minis can't even compare with this cough drops (almost the same price with smaller lozenge size).Although I have never really use it for suppressing cough, I would highly recommend it to others who are hesitating whether they should get this or not, simply because I had given this to a lot of friend that suffer from cough and found out that this product really do works for them.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I learned about Fisherman's Friend when my guitar teacher recommended it for those occasions when I wanted to sing but my throat was raspy. It worked, quickly and completely; so I bought a case of the extra strength lozenges. Once, in an airplane, I was seated next to a fairly elderly Bengladeshi who had a really bad cough. I offered him my half full pack of Fisherman's Friend. He took one and very soon he stopped coughing; and, as we were getting off the plane, he said "You saved my life." That was a bit extreme, I think, but they did do him a lot of good.More recently, I was in a meeting with a woman who couldn't stop coughing. I mentioned that I had these lozenges that most of the women I know don't like because they're so strong. So said that she'd take that chance; so I gave her the few I had with me. She took one and it worked. She stopped coughing and started looking for a place to buy her own.Eventually I ran out and to get a new supply, I found the best case price on Amazon. I don't sing with a guitar any more and I don't cough all that much; so this case should last a long long time.

I have used this product since the late 1970s with very good luck. I have not hade a cold/sore throat for 3-4 years. I find that if I feel one coming on I take a couple before going to bed and in the morning it is gone. The taste is very strong menthol which I don't mind. Some of my family don't like it but it beats a sore throat for a few days. The major problem it finding it in stores. Walmart use to stock it but stopped a couple years back. I now buy it from AMAZON in carton quanity as the best way to go!!

Not only do I have a damaged larynx, but also lots of allergies, and I use these pretty much non-stop during the day and sometimes at night as needed. They are not as long-lasting as my favorite brand, "Sucrets," but they are so much less expensive that they work well for as often as I need to use them. They also do not have the sickly-sweet taste that so many other over-the-counter cough drops have. I keep these on retainer with the auto-ship program, and plan to keep them coming!

I have never been able to find Fisherman's Friend Cough Drops in the big box stores, i.e., Walmart and Target, but have found them in the big grocery and pharmacy stores, i.e., Giant, CVS, Food Lion. When available, the item is pretty expensive if you buy one or two boxes. Since I always like to have these cough drops available, I buy them by the dozen (boxes), which makes them a little cheaper and there's no tax. Fisherman's Friend drops really help when I have one of those deep down coughs that none of the others can match. Yes, they are a bit strong but that's what makes them work so well. You get used to it and I promise you, you won't settle for anything else. I keep some in my night stand drawer, in my purse, and in my car because I never know when that awful cough is coming back. A few weeks ago, when I was in church, the lady beside me started coughing and couldn't stop; I just reached in my purse and offered her one of my Fisherman's Friend drops. Within seconds, she stopped coughing and wanted to know where to get them. I don't want to ever be without them. Highly recommended.
