Although the mesh size is #5 (openings are larger), the wire size is no thicker than that used in a #10 mesh that I bought on amazon. This mesh is loosely woven, so it unravels/frays easily - the end strands fall off, sometimes while working the sheet. This might prove to be useful for some applications (easy to cut), but I was looking for something with greater structural integrity.

I bought this in hopes to be like a netting for a cpu fan I turned into a portable fan powered via USB, I was worried about having the tools to cut it but was able to get past that. And I was able to line up the cut sheets to the fan, the fan has potential to cut probably a finger of and has cut some skin off me before, and I had to do some searching and decided on this. This was perfect, almost too perfect, the net doesn't bend in, atleast not too far that its dangerous, it's very sturdy and strong, the metal sheet didn't hit the fan blades but it does hit like the center of the fan and sometimes makes noises as it grinds against it, but no damage on the sheets end, some scratches on the fan but nothing dangerous, and also the holes in the sheet are so small, I doubt even a baby can fit its finger through it (not that I would try, just a estimation). The on my problem I have now is getting cut by the edges I left out after cutting cause they can go through skin, just gotta be careful and cut the edges off. But still it works perfect for a metal filter or metal net. I can even think of some cosmetic or prop use for leftover parts too. Well worth the purchase.

I have a Energy recovery ventilator that sucks air through an outdoor vent. I was getting leaves, giant spiders stuck inside the ERV where it hits the filter. So opening up the ERV to change the filter was always an adventure, spider webs, leaves all sorts of fun stuff. I tried a screen with small holes that you put on a window but it clogged with dust, so that wasn't good. This is the perfect solution, big enough to keep flowing free with air and not getting clogged. But small enough to keep leaves and lawn clippings out and even spiders and flies etc. I simply cut it a little bigger then the down facing vent with some wire clippers, bent the sides in so it fit inside the vent, and thenleft a little extra on the other two sides to prevent it from going in too far and not being secure. Works great glad I found this solution.

There's a stray cat that likes to chill on my patio and sleep in my vegetable containers. She already killed my first attempt at beets and several tomatoes. I bought these and bent them slightly to bow across the top of the containers, and they hold well (the pots are mesh cloth and the sharp edges on these catch, just like I want them to). Works like a charm! Very stiff and can be hard to bend if you need a "clean" edge, but use a tool and some pressure and should be no problem. Keeps its shape, keeps the cat out of the pots, and so far hasn't rusted after several months of use outside in South FL.
