This thing is awesome! I've had it for years. You can feel and see the quality. The Mitutoyo gauges are 2nd to none. Learning how to use this kind of tool is not the easiest but they include plenty of documentation. With a little practice, it functions just fine. The little wheels on the end guide and stabilize. The are 11 different tips and 4 differ sized shims. It is very accurate and repeatable (just don't drop it! i did once and it was fine but I would be very careful). You can estimate between 0.0001". It not cheap but quality never is. I'm so happy with it I'm looking for more Mitutoyo gauges for my other fixtures so I don't have to take my tools apart to extract the gauge.
