Magnetic Door Stoppers for Bottom of Door: Upgraded Strong Magnet Door Stop Security Door Holder to Keep Door Open

The media could not be loaded. I inadvertently ordered two sets of these handy door stoppers - the two pack and the three pack. Like any good tool, once I saw it, I thought of all sorts of places that needed it, so will find good homes for all five of the stoppers.The stopper is very well made from sturdy stainless steel with a strong magnet on the stopper wall post. The receiving door piece is also made of strong stainless steel. The design and color are sharp and modern looking. These sets are incredible bargains at the prices currently listed on Amazon.I read some of the reviews ahead of installing my first door stop and heard concerns about where to position the stopper and how to align the two pieces. I did not want to risk damaging the wall near my door so opted to mount the stopper on the wood trim rather than on the painted wall. I really didn't want to drill holes if I could avoid it, and opted to install the pieces using the 3M stickies. (The directions indicate that you could remove the 'stuck' stickies by applying heat from a hair drier should you need to reposition or remove.) The stickies match the diameter of each piece and are easy to affix to the base of each.I attached the stopper piece (long piece attached to the wall) first, on the flat portion of my baseboard. I positioned the magnetic ring parallel to the floor (ie horizontal) so as to give as much leeway as possible to the door should it warp or otherwise change its position over time (another tip from prior reviews).Once I attached the wall portion of the stopper, I placed the door portion on the magnetic stopper so that I could get the right alignment between the two pieces, then added another 3M stickie to this smaller piece and drew the door in to get the correct placement on the door. This all worked as planned and was completed within minutes.The magnetic linkage between the two pieces is very strong, and might be too strong for some situations. The instructions recommend using a piece of felt or other material to create a barrier between the two pieces and decrease the magnetic pull. Time will tell whether or not I will need to add a buffer, but so far, so good.

This three pack of magnetic door stops comes with everything included in my picture, plus the one that I installed using two stickers. Holy cow, those stickers really hold strong! Initially use them just to make sure I had good placement and planned to put screws in, but the stickers held so strong, I did not bother with the screws. The packs of screws that come with it are good for wood, drywall, or even concrete! It comes with nine double-sided, round 3M foam tape stickers. That's enough to install all three of these and still have three spares.Using the stickers, the magnetic door stop is very easy to install. It holds the door tight, but let's go when you need it to. The white paint goes great with my white door.

Our bathroom door likes to drift closed. In the middle of the night, I find myself stubbing my toe on the door. These will stop that! The magnet is strong enough to hold the door open but not so strong that I have to use brute strength to pull the door off the stop. Also, it matches my bathroom now that I changed everything to black. I like the adhesive backing but will probably end up screwing it in at some point. My toes thank me!

We got these to keep our bathroom doors open during the winter so that condensation doesn't build up in our bathrooms. They work great and were easy to install. We originally had worries that the adhesive wouldn't be enough to keep them attached, but so far it's been doing great so that's nice! Magnet is strong, but not too strong.

Partly my own fault for making assumptions, but these would not work with my baseboard profile, and frankly they're a bit ugly with the large metal disks sticking out. The smaller catch portion is held onto the metal disk with a rivet, so it can't practically be removed and used without the disk. The longer stop could be used without the disk by use of a hanger bolt or the like. If you do go ahead with the disks for attachment, they only included flat head screws, which really should be pan head screws since they don't countersink into the disks. Overall they'd probably look fine in a commercial environment, but I won't end up putting them in my house.

I’ve been using wedge stops to hold my doors open until now.The stops offer you the ability to mount the stop on the wall or on the floor. You have the option of mounting the stops using screws or using the enclosed double-stick 3M pads. I screwed the pieces in given that the magnet is quite strong. The piece that mounts to the door is spring-loaded to cushion the impact.Although they function well, I feel the design could be improved. The mounting screws are hidden on the piece that mounts to the wall/floor, but not on the piece that mounts to the door. The screws for the door piece could have been hidden, especially since the door-mounted piece is overly large. The entire door piece could have been made much smaller and more attractive.The stops are very well priced at only $2 each!

White color is perfect if you have the white trim and white doors. It really hides that these are installed. Very simple to install and I love that I have two options to mount because I don’t want to drill into my door. I drilled into the molding since that real wood and used the sticker for the door since like mine, many doors are not true wood and screws can easy work their way out and then you are left with hard to repair holes. They shut super strong!! It’s still easy enough to pull away but not too easy. I’m happy with them and glad I could find something suitable to keep my door from constantly closing by itself.
