THIS STROLLER! Smooth one hand push and fits BIG kids!
I searched for a light umbrella stroller for my 42lb 4 year old son who sometimes needs to go to Urgent Care/Emergency Room for asthma treatment when he can’t calm it at home. The first time we went, I brought our old $20 umbrella stroller from when his brother was an infant. You know, the little metal one with the flimsy suspended cloth piece seat. His hips barely fit in it and he was so tired and uncomfortable and needed to just rest, so it was better than laying him on dirty ER lobby seats but was DEFINITELY not optimal for him to sit or really rest in (while I waited 5+ hours in a manic city ER during COVID..) I ended up holding his legs on my lap and stuffing blankets around him to make that crap stroller work. I actually threw it away when we got the new one because it was such a bad experience. My point is, why don’t they make cheaper strollers that fit BIGGER KIDS comfortably? Plan for a baby, buy all this baby gear travel stuff and then one day you have a fussy 3-4yo down the line and you either got rid of it or it’s all useless because it won’t fit them anymore.I searched for ANY umbrella stroller under $200 (other than jogging strollers which are far too big for what I’d need) that could fit a big kid and recline for him to rest but would still fold up and be tucked away for the majority of time- he only needs to use this so sporadically I almost couldn’t justify the price...But BOY was it worth it.This thing maneuvers like a dream, rolls so smooth and the seat is tall and wide and soft. It looks sharp! It makes him feel so secure it’s weird how happily he rode in it to test it out after being an early walker who hasn’t used a stroller more than twice since he was 3. I am waiting for a leg extender in hopes it would let him recline and sleep with his legs up if we have to keep making these nightmare ER visits. The huge sunshade for privacy/darkness was a pleasant bonus as well as the style and feel of the handlebars and fold mechanism/brake. Cup holder is nice and moves around to the kid if they need and the pocket for a phone is placed perfectly. I have had zero issues with the complaints mentioned in other reviews- mechanism to fold is great and it stands freely folded so it doesn’t get nasty on the ground in a parking lot. The belt clip is smooth and opens with a thumb press even though he doesn’t need it. I did missa snack tray but that’s easy to fix.I saw UppaBaby has newer versions of this stroller and after reading a hundred thousand reviews I’ve come to the conclusion that this 2018 UppaBaby GLuxe is their best design! Just get it. I had 4 50-70$ strollers in my cart and I am SO GLAD a I chose this. Be completely assured if you’ve owned a stroller before this or are first time parent this thing will meet your needs.

Definitely worth the money (mother of 4)
I purchased this for travel & store runs/shopping. I have a very pricey & very fun All terrain Bob that we use often for adventuring & also a beautiful & chic luxury Nuna for smooth cruising. but both are too bulky & a tad bit too heavy for me during airline travel & store runs. I am 5ft & 125# momma of 4. So I’m an experienced momma & am far too busy to invest extra energy learning secret tricks of a stroller & also wanted to avoid injuring myself trying to lug a toddler & stroller into the back of my 4Runner on busy days & on a plane. I was a little worried I had invested $200 on an umbrella stroller that I may not even like.I started to love it almost as soon as I took it out of the box. It was pretty light, pulled it out with one arm while holding box with the other. Assembled easily without reading instructions, opened it up even faster but the real test was closing it. I had read reviews saying they were upset because they opened it fine but could not close it therefore could not take anywhere…they either had a faulty stroller or they have maybe 1 kid & or very little baby equipmentexperience. My first attempt to close it, took less than 10 thoughtful seconds & no read if the instructions. Reopened in. 2-4secs. 2nd test close took less than 5secs. Carrying it by the strap out to the garage with one arm was a breeze, until I realized I could roll it to the car while standing it up…then I placed into the back of my runner with very little effort & quite a bit of cargo space left. I was sold. I purchased for the ease of traveling with a 2y/o, but I will certainly use this much more often. The stroller movement is smooth, transitions nicely, I even tested the one had push & turn, of course it doesn’t have the suspension as my Bob, but it’s pretty comfortable for me & baby. I do have a stroller caddy that I love that I got from target that I use on my Bob that holds 2 drinks, compartment for phone/keys/etc & zippered pouch . The storage on the bottom is not as impressive as my Bob or Nuna, but it is an easy tradeoff for the ease of use, maneuverability & weight of this UppaBaby Gluxe. I have ordered stroller handle hooks for shopping bags, purse or wallet if needed as not to overburden the bottom storage. All in all, this is very close to or exactly what I was looking for. I’m very pleased!

Closing tips
This is our go-to stroller that we grab when we don't want to bring the full size stroller. If we're going on rough terrain or curbs, or need a lot of storage space, I just bring the full size stroller instead.I have a 30 pound 15 month old so getting something sturdy with a high weight limit was a must. We have two of these, one at my parents house and another at our house.Tip: when closing it, put your right foot on the red break or on the right kick tab (that you use to open the stroller) and lightly push down with your foot, while you do the following: push in the gray button on the right handle, and while it's pushed in, pull the two circle tabs on each handle. It sounds like a lot, but once you get the hang of it, it closes easily each time.
