I am stunned at the build quality of this little unit. The aspect of it that really floors me is the price of it after seeing the build quality. I forgot what I paid for it when I was trying it out and when I looked it up I was shocked which basically forced me to write a review AND take photos which is something I never do. As far as longevity goes? Well who knows, it's brand new so we never know how products will last in the long run but this one feels good in the hand and as I said before the build quality is great. I won't be surprised if it lasts years. I had purchased a similar unit a couple years back on ebay for just a money and it never worked from the start. Build quality was horrible and it felt horrible in the hands too. I ended up with a refund and they didn't supply a return shipping label so I had to keep it. I now think I may take it apart to see if its fixable. I really can't recommend this Rodzon unit enough.

I REPEAT; DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BUYING THIS THING and thinking it will work, because it DOESN'T ! I legit spent like 48 hours on this thing trying to make it work by rereading the instructions a thousand times , trying it on 3 different computers; 1 MacBook Air, 1 WINDOWS 10, 1 WINDOWS VISTA. It did not work on ALL OF THEM. The box appeared "dead" to me, computer would detect it , but nothing would make it "work" per say, no light, box doesn't open, etc. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS.

Product arrived DOA. Plugged into computer (tried both usb2.0 and 3.0) and would not read the disk. Waited 10 mins and still nothing. Actually severly scratched a circular etch arounf the whole disk. Buyer beware. Spend the extra money on a better brand. This one is not worth the hassle of sending it back. 0 out of 5 stars if I could.

This external achieved what I expected. It arrived on schedule. Simply plug in to USB port and it's ready to use. My laptop did not have a DVD drive. I downloaded a program app which only was available on a mini dvd. I have not tried burning a DVD yet. If it works well for that I will give a 5 star.

Worked perfectly with my mac book . No messing around just plug and play .
